Katharina Aries' engaging video for YEИDRY - Dominican-Italian singer Yendry Cony Fiorentino - finds her in front of a mirror, changing into different clothes, struggling to find the perfect outfit for an important family occasion. 

The video for Mentira is the second in a three-part series for YEИDRY's album Como Agua, delivers her search for identity with appealing energy and warmth, and elements of comic melodrama in the tradition of the telenovela as family members, including a formidable matriarch, become increasingly impatient with her absence. 

"This chapter is the confrontation — she is alone in her own world, searching for a look that can make sense of who she is on the inside," says Aries.

"Caught between two versions of herself, two cultures, and two ways of being, she turns to her outer appearance as a way to define the person she wants to become. Every look, every transformation, becomes an attempt to collapse the split and bring these two identities into one body.

"Throughout the performance, she repeatedly breaks the fourth wall - intentionally. Each time she looks directly into the camera, the line between what is real and what is an act begins to blur. We are left questioning whether she is performing for us, for herself, or trying to discover which version of herself is actually real."
