BEASTIE 'Mitcham Mint' by Goose

David Knight - 28th Aug 2026
A long hot summer's day in the life of singer-songwriter-producer BEASTIE, in his home manor of Mitcham, South London - in eye-catchingly lo-fi and authentic fashion.
With a decidedly no-frills but skilled approach, Goose (that's Gustav Newby, one half of directing duo Broken Antenna) takes us through a day of drinking, smoking and homemade tattooing with this talented up-and-comer and his friends in this unheralded corner of London suburbia.
And its for the track Mitcham Mint, inspired by a historic pub in BEASTIE’s local area, which shut down for being too rowdy. The beauty of Goose's video is the contrast between the energy of the visuals, where you get a real sense of place - in all its rough-and-readiness - and the artist's slow-burning melodic soul.
It's also the first video credited to Goose, as a solo director, rather than Broken Antenna - although his BA partner Myles McAuliffe has played his part here as the editor of the video.
"I wanted to make something that reflected one of those summer days where you wake up from the night before still with your friends and drift around from motive to motive meeting up with different people and hanging out letting the day take you where it chooses to take you," he says. "Sometimes that's just hanging out and sometimes that's ending up in a situation with someone you don't know so well where you end up doing something you normally wouldn't and probably shouldn't.
"I also wanted it to be a celebration of Mitcham. The area, the architecture and the people. Despite growing up in South-East London, it wasn't an area I was particularly familiar with, I never really had any reason to take me there before.
"It's always a fun part of making videos like this though, where you get yourself immersed in an area that you previously didn't know much about."
