Apashe & Alina Pash 'Kyiv' by Adrian Villagomez

Adrian Villagomez directs a stirring, deeply emotive promo for Apashe & Alina Pash.
Shot in Ukraine during the fourth-year of Russia's full-scale invasion, the video for Kyiv opens with a traditional performance vignette. This is immediately interrupted by soldiers clearing the location, saying it's too unsafe to shoot a music video.
This breaking of the fourth-wall thrusts viewers into a panicked rush to escape the building, whilst the choir and performers hold their place.
As not to spoil the impact of the visual, we won't reveal the end, but one thing's for sure - it's quite possibly the most impactful video in recent memory.
Deeply human, emotional and thought-provoking, the video is encapsulated by a single sentence at the end: The line between 'there' and 'here' is thinner than you think.
"This project was filmed in Ukraine during the [fourth year of the] war," Villagomez explains.
"The choir was recorded on a calm day, between nights of air raids and shelling. As I’m writing this, Kyiv is in a blackout.
"This city has always meant a great deal to me, and I hope this video can, in one way or another, help people understand what is happening there."
A truly stunning visual that lingers long after watching.
