ILLIT 'Do The Dance' by Zac Dov Wiesel

Promonews - 4th July 2025
After his move into the big leagues with Megan Thee Stallion, Zac Dov Wiesel next one is to take on K-Pop - and make a video as brilliantly bizarre as anything the genre has produced, for girl group ILLIT.
When the quintet arrive on an unlikely tandem bike, its on a downward angle - and a clue on how off-kilter the video for Do The Dance is going to be. This tale of schoolgirl crush is almost ridiculously stylised - Hollywood musical meets Studio Ghibli sweetness - to the point you may wonder if ILLIT are actually real at all.
But its no case of style over substance. This is a major work of cinematic craft, with a number of choreographed sequences that looks like it was months (years?) in the planning. The escalator sequence towards the end, as the girls hit the shopping mall, is a masterpiece of organisation - and that's just one.
So a weird, breathtaking crazy teen dream of a K-Pop video - which is totally mesmerising. ZDW does it again.
