VUKOVI 'My God Has Got A Gun' by Janine Shilstone
Promonews - 12th Feb 2025
Ayreshire rock band VUKOVI's lead singer Janine Shilstone directs a pulsating performance video for the title track from their new album - filmed in a Glasgow church.
Focussing largely on Shilstone's commanding presence, the video for My God Has Got A Gun was shot using a 360-camera orbiting rig, with a platform built onto the 360 rig so the camera spins around the band members on an altar, and the performers spin along with the camera.
The result is a video that has a disorientating, vertigo-inducing atmosphere. The constant movement complements the track’s evolution, that begins with the eerie sound of a child reciting poetry before erupting into heavy yet melodic rock guitar riffs and Shilstone's powerful vocals.
A visual that mirrors the intensity of a track by a band who are becoming known for their bold and distinctive use of religious iconography.
