The Rolling Stones 'Mess It Up' by Calmatic
Rob Ulitski - 12th Jan 2024
Nicholas Hoult stars in a thought-provoking narrative for The Rolling Stones' Mess It Up - from the old rockers' new album Hackney Diamonds - directed by Calmatic.
After a fiery exchange with his partner, we see Hoult storm out of his house and take a long walk to calm down, traversing miles of countryside and breathtaking backdrops.
But after realising his overreaction to the situation, he turns back to make amends - only to realise he has been walking for years, and the life he once knew has disappeared.
It's a brilliant concept with a typically standout performance from Hoult, and Gus Bendinelli's cinematography adds a vintage, nostalgic feel to the project - only fitting for an iconic group like the Stones.
