Rachel Chinouriri 'The Hills' by Jacob Erland
Rob Ulitski - 23rd Oct 2023
Jacob Erland directs a meditation on London, in the latest of his ongoing collaborations with Rachel Chinouriri.
The cinematic promo for The Hills sees the artist walk through city streets in a series of stylised vignettes, showing a raw, unfiltered version of the capital whilst representing the feeling of being at home amongst the chaos.
The high-contrast aesthetic - aided by Megan Lee's crunchy grade of Erland's own cinematography - pits the moody grey skies against a splash of colour and Chinouriri's relaxed performance of this Britpop-influenced track, visualising the dichotomy evident in the track. We're in the Nineties - that's just fine.
An impressive new chapter in Erland and Chinouriri's collaborative efforts.
