Ama Lou self-directs the promo for Same Old Ways, where contrary to the title of the song, tradition gets a welcome makeover. 

In the video - made in collaboration with The North Face - we follow the induction of two inner city kids (Ama and her friend) on their first day of boarding school. At the start, the viewer is set up to anticipate the worst for the pupils as they enter a daunting environment. But instead, they are welcomed with open arms, having a great time taking part in some classic old English boarding school activities. 

Excitable and celebratory, the video - shot by Ama's sister Mahalia John - is full of feelgood vibes, and the breathtaking setting is an excellent location for the camaraderie to ensue.
