Aisultan Seitov returns to music videos with this stunning work for the Kazakh rapper Maslo Chernogo Tmina.

With remarkable cinematography by Anatoliy Trofimov, Seitov has created an impressionistic vision of a cataclysmic moment - a fire in the oilfields of his Kazakhstan homeland. And in a series of grimly beautiful images, he refers to an actual event - the accident at well No. 37 of the Kazakh Tengiz field in 1985 - which produced a pillar of flame.

This is what Seitov also manages here - an awesome sight which is certainly terrifying but also beautiful. The plight of the oilfield's implacable workers is also cast in this heroic light. A tremendous achievement.
