Shaybo ft Snap Capone 'Come For Shay' by KC Locke
Rob Ulitski - 27th Aug 2020
Shaybo is on top of the world in KC Locke's video for Come For Shay.
Elevated on a floating stage, Shaybo delivers a quickfire performance as the camera tracks her every move.
The use of perspective is inspired, switching between the stage and the floor, where featured artist Snap Capone is first introduced.
DoP Stefan Yap builds a hyperactive energy through relentless camera movement and coruscating lighting, creating an enigmatic and sharp aesthetic.
KC LOCKE:
I wanted to allow Shaybo to showcase her performance skills and strong female character.
"For Shaybo I wanted to create a visual which had a live stage performance feeling to it - with Covid 19 and all live shows bring a distant memory I feel a lot of musicians' summers have been ruined.
By creating an impressive floating stage - similar to what you would see at a headline show - I wanted to allow Shaybo to showcase her performance skills and strong female character.
"This approach gives a live feeling to the video and gives Shaybo’s audience an exciting taste and appetite of what’s to come once live shows are back up and running again."
