Mae Muller struggles to make the choice between falling in love and keeping her independence, in Sophia Ray's ambitious promo for Dependent.
Maé 'Nights' by Maé
Paris-based artist Maé self-directs the video for Nights, her debut release with brand new label Left Recordings.
The promo focuses on a lifeless character, detached from reality, struggling with her emotions. Strangely reminiscent of Fiona Apple's Criminal in it's cinematography and style, the enigmatic video has a dangerous and preternatural vibe, hinting at a much darker and complex narrative than the one that is immediately evident.
Moody, lo-fi and obscure, the visual is a perfect match for the track, and a great introduction to Maé.
