Martin Garde Abildgaard directs a story about love, life and death in his video for Danish producer Thomas Bertelsen, aka Tom And His Computer.

Beautifully ethereal and offbeat, the concept focuses on a young man who receives a small bean in the mail and after potting and watering it, is stunned to see a woman grow out of the soil. That is only the beginning however, as the video has a sprawling, existential narrative, exploring the relationship between humans, the environment and higher powers, reflected through abstract imagery and haunting conceptual elements. 

DoP Mattias Troelstrup's cinematography is beautiful, contrasting the naturally lit, uniquely Scandinavian spaces with a darker, grittier aesthetic when the main character starts to lose his way... and quite possibly his mind.
