Fredo 'Scorpion' by Suave
Rob Ulitski - 3rd Apr 2020
Fredo takes his shot in Suave's hyperactive visual for Scorpion.
In a warehouse surrounded by his crew, Fredo performs a quickfire rap surrounded by a nest of scorpions and discarded bullet shells. Intercut with glitchy visual effects, the cinematography is frantic and raw, with textured overlays tying everything together.
SUAVE:
Fredo was a bit wary at first but very quickly got used to the scorpions being in shot.
"My initial thoughts when I first heard this song was "scorpions!". I visualised scorpions crawling all over the place... lol. Actually working with live scorpions was dope, but I definitely wasn’t trying to get too close to them. (The handler let me know they pack a mean sting)
"Due to my slight fear of the scorpions, I had to use the perfect selection of lenses for this shoot. Fredo himself was also a bit wary at first but very quickly got used to the scorpions being in shot.
"I went through the edit process with Fredo himself, the shots he personally liked along with shots I knew needed to make the final cut."
