TOKiMONSTA ft. EarthGang 'Fried For The Night' by Romain Laurent
Romain Laurent’s mindbender for Grammy-nominated producer Tokimonsta (aka Jennifer Lee) and Atlanta hip-hop duo EarthGang's Fried In The Night explores the meaning of the songtitle through a enjoyably trippy combination of live action and visual effects.
The French director brings his talent for standout post work - as found in videos for Their Names and Trevor Dickson, and lots of French ads - to a Psilocybin-fuelled house party, and creates a very psychedelic experience in the process. Firstly smoke bursts spontaneously from the bodies of Earthgang's Olu and WowGr8, then tropical forest colours bleed lusciously through each party scene, and on it goes.
Micro-dosing this is not. But the hallucinations here are just great VFX - crafted expertly by Laurent himself - with no lasting side effects.
