Lauren Auder 'June 14th' by Will Reid
Lauren Auder dazzles in Will Reid's video for June 14th, performing a dramatised internal monologue between two lovers.
Told through the artist's nuanced theatrical performance, the video builds into a hectic, strobe light-fuelled crescendo as the emotion of one of the characters boils over on screen. The video swells and recedes in time with Auder's emotional state, transitioning through several clever lighting setups that capture the journey through different moods and feelings.
“It’s about a first sexual relationship between two characters,” says Auder - but, arguably, that is just scraping the surface. The artist's performance encompasses a gamut of emotion, exploring love in all its forms, physical and spiritual, whilst keeping a subtle and mysterious demeanour.
