Little Mix 'One I've Been Missing' by Laurence Warder
Rob Ulitski - 4th Dec 2019
All of the greats have one... Mariah Carey, The Pogues and Kirsty Maccoll, Wham. Now it's time for Little Mix to put their mark on catchy Christmas ballads with One I've Been Missing, alongside a suitably melancholic video directed by Laurence Warder.
Focusing on the wistful nature of isolation and the bittersweet expectation of seeing loved ones again, we see the girls in understated locations such as hotel rooms and cafés, a world away from the glitz and glamour of their usual promos.
Achieving a documentary feel through mixed media and intimate personal videos, the visual is raw and honest whilst giving us an unexpected look behind closed doors, as the group go by their day to day lives.
Stripping back the commercial elements of the season, the core tradition of spending time with family and friends is at the heart of the concept. A reminder to us all to focus on the important things this holiday season.
Laurence Warder:
"A melancholic and natural feeling video captured on the road though two looks, camcorder and cine cam. Each of the group is seen missing someone whilst touring the Christmas holiday."
