Mahalia ft. Burna Boy 'Simmer' by KC Locke
KC Locke takes a simple concept and elevates it with DP Stefan Yap's gorgeous cinematography, energetic performances and some spot-on art direction for Mahalia's Simmer.
Mahalia exudes confidence, dancing in a gloriously lit orange-red apartment, juxtaposed with Burna Boy's cool blue environment. Both artists are entirely captivating, and the interspersed moments of calm, still shots contrast brilliantly against the frantic camerawork throughout.
The video is full of summer vibes, and is the latest work from a director who is paving the way with a distinctive creative style and a unique visual approach. “Cool down, Simmer” indeed.
