Snow Patrol 'Don't Give In' by Brett Simon
David Knight - 29th Mar 2018
Snow Patrol return with Don't Give In, and a video directed by Brett Simon that reflects the heartfelt yearning at the heart of the song.
At the start, it seems to be just a simple band performance against black. But as the lighting changes, a sheer black slope appears behind the band, and young men and women start to run up the slope, then acrobatically throw themselves from it.
While Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody gives an emotional performance directed at the camera, the action around him intensifies, and becomes more coordinated. The young people combine and organise as they atempt to challenge the black slope - a visual response to Lightboy's plea: Don't Give In.
Simon's video is the first of a series he's made for Wildness, Snow Patrol's first album in seven years.
