Will & Carly's video for Sam Frankl is a highly stylised piece of performance that explores the collapse of a relationship thorugh choregoraphy in a simple stark space.
Faux 'Take Back Time' by Will & Carly
Young directing partnership Will & Carly make their strongest statement yet with the new Faux video.
In many respects it's a simple idea: a dance performance you realise is happening backwards. What makes it good is how it keeps offering new pleasures - and making very good use of what might consider familiar locations.
And ultimately they show something that's always been a winner, from Fred & Ginger to The Blaze: two people dancing with each other.
Take Back Time is a classic ‘break-up’ song, a typical ‘You don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone’.
Musically it’s a nostalgic, upbeat pop song with its twinkling synths, funky bass line and soulful chorus. Delve a little deeper though and you expose lyrics that are regretful and sad. We wanted to create a visual interpretation of the song that mirrored these contradictory feelings. Something which is sincere and sombre but ultimately leaves you with feel good vibes.
The film tells the story of a girls break up expressed though a dance performance that plays out in reverse, giving her the chance to retrace her steps, turn back the clock and revisit the love she lost.

Will & Carly's video for Sody employs an apt and very effective device to project the powerful emotion that drives her song The Bully.
