Placebo 'Life's What You Make It' by Sasha Rainbow
Luke Bather - 8th June 2017
Sasha Rainbow's clip for Placebo is an eye-opening look at life in a part of Ghana that often goes unmentioned.
Set in Agbogbloshie, one of the largest e-waste dumps in the world, the clip is a part cautionary gaze at the harrowing wasteland that electronic consumerism produces in areas of abject poverty, but it's also a celebration of the people who live and work there.
Beautifully shot scenes of candid celebration contrast with those of desperate destruction to create a powerful visual reminder that's hard to ignore.
