Puzzle 'Kamikaze' by Ruslan Pelykh
Following his video for Little Black Book earlier this year, Ruslan Pelykh has now created another imaginatively stylysed performance video for the Brazilian-born, London-based artist Puzzle, liberally embellished with smoothly executed bursts of post FX.
As before, Puzzle is the charismatic and chameleon-like enigma at the heart of the video for Kamikaze (from the EP Babylon) – which appropriately embraces a Japanese theme, expressed through samurai swordplay and elements of kabuki.
But it is the pacing of the edit and use of effects that really impresses, showing that Ruslan Pelykh is a director who martials his resources extremely well to create very stylish results.
