First seen as a contestant on the UK TV show The Voice – where she was taken under the wing of Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson – Beth McCarthy is captured in more naturalistic surroundings for her video for Pretty Lies.

It's shot in the singer's hometown of York by local filmmaker Andy Little, filming in the places where Beth found inspiration for the song, and where she wrote it. It shifts between Beth and her dreamlike memories, taking in a narrative of cheating partners and relationship turmoil.
