Beyond The Wizards Sleeve 'Black Crow' by Romano Pizzichini
Cat Velez - 11th Oct 2016
Romano Pizzichini’s unsettling video for Beyond the Wizards Sleeve's song Black Crows explores the eery tension between two tennis students and their creepy teacher - whose aggressive methods and highly questionable motives causes the girls to enter a very unsportsmanly dynamic.
The sinister, almost Giallo-like tone is set with an opening sequence in which one of girls throws a tennis ball at the other, who made to stand defenseless with her hands behind her back. Once the beautifully-dressed tutor pits them against each other, the teacher then performs a Rorscharch test and doles out bizarre and dehumanising punishments.
Romano describes the video as, “constantly teetering between innocence and brutality, but shot in a matter of fact way.”
