After their excellent videos for the likes of LarzRanda and Sheep, Dog & Wolf in New Zealand, Auckland-based directing duo Jordan Dodson and Sean Wallace - aka THUNDERLIPS – make an impressive first British video for the returning Two Door Cinema Club. It is a thing of grotesque, slightly bewildering beauty.

In the the video for Are We Ready? (Wreck) video, the three members of TDCC are all noxiously cheesy spokesmen for a series of terrible ads for brands with names corresponding to the song's lyrics. Two of them have been luridly transformed, by Melissa Lackersteen's makeup job, into puffy-faced, surgery-enhanced versions of themselves. But there's a battle going on between this artificiality and reality underneath, expressed through lead singer Alex Trimble's angst and slowly disintegrating face.

It's visually arresting and audacious, and after a couple of views (maybe trying to figure it out what's going on), another catchy TDCC song will be stuck in your brain.
