Josef Salvat 'Open Season' by Ollie Wolf
Cat Velez - 4th Aug 2015
Ollie Wolf has delivered this clever deconstruction of music video cliché shot in the small port town of Cadaques, Spain for Josef Salvat's song Open Season.
Josef Salvat wanted a video with a French New Wave feel, leading Wolf derive inspiration from Godard film trailers' wit and self awareness, which ended up influencing the final concept. After listening to the track, Wolf felt it was talking about the madness of being in the industry - so the idea of putting a mirror up to it and constructing a video from the tropes of music videos seemed like the best.
Ollie reflects, “It was great to make and I really rate the freedom that Josef, Laura and the guys at Sony let me have on this. I really think that comes across on screen.”
