The Script 'Superheroes' by Vaughan Arnell
Shot on location in South Africa, Vaughan Arnell's uplifting video for The Script's Superheroes is a both an original, arguably unique performance video, and also a timely celebration of human endeavour and spirit in the face of insurmountable odds.
Vaughan - who makes a brief cameo himself – and his crew and the band went to a township in Johannesburg to film the performance element - and it was lit entirely by flares held by locals. The connection between The Script and the surrounding crowd is obvious - particularly at the end of the video.
And in a stirring narrative element we also glimpse true hardship, refracted through hope - the story of a father working tremendously hard to help bring up his young daughter.
