Aside from the lovely camera work and black and white sheen, the striking thing about this video for French singer-songwriter Christine and the Queens is the excellent acting.  Then something dawns on you.  Amazingly, all four characters - two female and two male - are the same performer.  Christine takes the leads in her music video to excellent effect and kudos to the clever trickery used by The Barbarians (director) to pull this off. Reverse camera angles, body doubles and even some added post-production shaky-cam are combined to bring this confusing and impressive impressive video to life.

"The idea came from the fact that Christine and the Queens is a band's name... for only one person ! Why not use this paradoxal plurality to create this film, and demultiply the singer? The song talks about a break-up. So the music video will show the singer playing all the roles in this personal drama. 

"It's a nightmare, it's an ego trip, and it's above all a beautiful direction challenge!"
