Jai Moseley directs a thought-provoking narrative&nbsp;video for Skinny Pelembe's Don't Be Another,&nbsp;introducing us to Hilario, a farm worker in California, as he faces the transition from boy to man across&nbsp;a series of evocative vignettes.&nbsp;Grappling with the&nbsp;responsibilities and the constraints of his environment, Hilario resorts to&nbsp;familiar coping mechanisms. It's a stirring visual, a beautifully observed and deftly executed film that offers a convincing portrait of a young man struggling with the reality of his life.&nbsp;&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]"When I listened to Doya’s (Skinny Pelembe) track for the first time, I was really gripped by this very specific tale of human imperfection," Moseley explains. "It had this strong feeling for an unquenchable thirst for a better life. I knew instantly, the video would have to be one where the experience and feeling for a complicated life, overruled all else."The choice of subject matter comes from the meshing of this, with a story&nbsp;I had read through the discovery of photographer Matt Black’s work. The story was of a field worker named Hilario Guzman, who had crossed the border into the US with his family. One day, after working in the fields, picking 250 trays of grapes over 10 hours (and making only $50), he crashed his truck drunk into an alfalfa field. It was said, in Hilario’s culture, when you die in the fields your soul gets stuck there.[imgtoken data:2]"Hilario’s story felt like a poignant commentary that echoed the dilemmas of our track. With this in mind, we headed up to the farming towns of the Central Valley, to find an organisation we could consult and make this story in partnership with."Immense gratitude needs to be expressed for Re-establishing Stratford, a charity dedicated to empowering and re-establishing the once prosperous community of Stratford, CA. Pregoblin's Alex Sebley&nbsp;goes on a leisurely trip to La Rochelle in France&nbsp;with none other than Pete Doherty, in Niall Trask's breezy promo for the former Fat White Family collaborator's new project.&nbsp;Doherty took time out of his busy schedule of touring and recording with The Libertines and touring with French songwriter/producer Frederic Lo, to contribute vocals to These Hands AKA Danny The Knife, with the lyrical content of the song focussing on themes of loneliness and a lack of fulfilment.Backdropped by beautiful coastal views, the video plays out like a joyous&nbsp;buddy road trip, and if you didn't know better, this could be any pair of friends going about their holiday - and that's the beauty of the video.[imgtoken data:1]"Budget allowed us: 800ft of film, two returns to La Rochelle, an Airbnb and 24 hours in La Rochelle," explains Trask. "With no producer, I felt like my year 7 teacher on the South of France trip, trying to herd Peter Doherty and Alex Sebley around town whilst keeping them out of trouble."‘Be cool and don’t sound too bossy in front of Pete Doherty’ I thought to myself as I hurried him to finish his coffee as we lost daylight."Small fact: On my year 7 trip I smuggled a flick-knife in a pair of swimming trunks I was wearing under my shorts, praying that the blade wouldn’t unleash in my trunks as I waddled past the makeshift teacher security that were searching all the boys, finding fire crackers and BB guns."

Following the success of last year's Glue Song, Jake Erland directs a charming single-take promo for&nbsp;beabadoobee.Full of ballerinas, a butler and, of course, Bea herself,&nbsp;the video for The Way Things Go has an artistic, painterly aesthetic, with some truly outstanding art direction and styling.&nbsp;It's an unexpected yet brilliant change of vibe for Bea, who worked closely in collaboration with Erland on the idea, and shows a fascinating ambition for bold concepts and situations that will challenge&nbsp;her as an artist.&nbsp;A must watch, and one that will certainly&nbsp;be on repeat over the summer period.&nbsp;

Sam Taylor reunites with Fontaines DC frontman Grian Chatten, for this moving promo for All Of The People.&nbsp;Taken from Chatten's debut solo album, the video examines what it means to be human, and how we break out of the cycle of unconscious routine to find freedom.&nbsp;“Taking inspiration from Lars Von Trier, George Orwell, Billy Wilder, our film analyses loneliness, self doubt then acceptance, appreciation and human connection," Taylor mentions.&nbsp;With a grungy dystopian aesthetic, the video emphasises the often restrained nature of the human experience. However, the use of light pastel colours and the romantic textures&nbsp;of shooting on film give the film a hopeful streak, which is embodied by the characters as the video progresses.&nbsp;This is the third collaboration between Taylor and Chatten, with the previous two videos being for Fontaines D.C. - Roman Holiday and<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/02/21/fontaines-dc-i-love-you-samuel-taylor/75022"> I Love You.&nbsp;</a>&nbsp;

Ashnikko is back in&nbsp;Furmaan + Vasso's extraordinary promo for Weedkiller, the title track from the long-awaited debut album.&nbsp;Described as a "trans-dimensional fable, a folk-tech origin story of a birth, a death and a call to emergency in the face of evil," it's safe to say there are a lot of ideas going on, and the hyperactive blend of AI, performance and visual effects is&nbsp;brain-meltingly addictive to watch.&nbsp;Tied together by the fae universe created by Ashnikko on the album, the video is cinematic, gritty and textural, with an overarching sci-fi vibe linking three distinct vignettes that makes the whole concept a true spectacle.&nbsp;Marvellous work by&nbsp;Furmaan + Vasso - who also directed the impressive new Jess Glynne video&nbsp;- and proof that Ashnikko is one of the most exciting artists around today, musically and visually.[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]
