Sammy Rawal directs a glossy promo for Not So French, featuring Lady Ice and a menagerie of fizzy pop beverages.&nbsp;Featuring frenetic camera zooms, a splash of visual effects and a bubbling energy throughout, Rawal loops different movements to create a GIF-style aesthetic, matching the beat of the track.&nbsp;Lady Ice is mesmerising throughout, jumping, shaking and twisting her way into a Soda Pop frenzy.&nbsp;"The idea behind this was to create an absurd advert-style music video for the fictitious NotSoFrench brand of soda," explains Sammy Rawal.&nbsp;"The video plays with the themes of 'sweet'&nbsp;and 'sexy'&nbsp;in a very camp approach. Driven by a graphic colour&nbsp;palette and starring Lady Ice of the iconic House of Miyake-Mugler, the video quickly spirals deeper into visual craziness as elements of digital collage, illustrated overlays and intentionally skewed scale/proportion are introduced."&nbsp;

Sammy Rawal&#39;s second video for the Canadian pop-electronica artist Hannah Georgas expands upon his first for Don&#39;t Go&nbsp;a few months ago&nbsp;in using gif-like repetition to emphasise the rhythms of the track Evelyn.This is also more design-orientated and certainly more colourful that <a href="http://www.believemedia.com/work/sammy-rawal-hannah-georgas-dont-go/" target="_blank">its dark and brooding predecessor</a>, the repetition extended to Georgas herself, with multiple versions of her lounging and walking&nbsp;around a brutalist urban space. But Rawal doesn&#39;t get bogged down in repetition for its own sake either, and also provides a kind of intermission from the main theme, having Georgas emerge, angel-like, from fluffy white clouds.

Scott Cudmore teams up with Holy Fuck to tell this slight reworking of a Biblical Epic.Based on the story of David and Goliath, we follow David as he brings home his trophy, Goliath&#39;s head, much to the delight of the local villagers. Except that the local villagers, in this case, are the residents of modern day LA. The story quickly morphs into a sprawling character study on the trappings of fame, with David carrying the head with him to all manner of parties and social gatherings. And over 12 minutes we watch the rise, and fall, and rise of a familiar character in a new context.Stylistic choices such as the use of various camera formats, coupled with the strange-yet-perfect bright blue letterboxing throughout and the headache-inducing strobing over the end credits (you&#39;ve been warned) make this an unique longform&nbsp;video piece.

A live performance with a stilted and discomfiting audience makes for some surreal and awkward viewing in this clip for Snowblink, directed by Scott Cudmore, continuing his run of&nbsp;bleak, darkly comedic, highly cinematic music videos.Gorgeous settings and excellent costume offer the illusion that this wealthy family&nbsp;seem functional. But the moments in between the actions in this video show cracks in the family facade. Footage of avalanches physically tearing into a family portrait make the tense awkwardness of the performance seem almost unbearable, and yet there are moments so darkly absurd here that you can&#39;t help but laugh.

A cinematic visual accompaniment to Wintersleep&#39;s Amerika is a multi-faceted vision of an all-too-close-to-home sociopolitical&nbsp;dystopia, with a weakening of the human condition&nbsp;and a biblical apocalypse colliding with one another in a disquieting and harrowing beauty.The video deviates from a normal &#39;rock&#39; video by favouring slower pacing and delivering a feeling of menace and foreboding from multiple isolated narrative perspectives.&nbsp;The payoff is a gut-punching set of gorgeous visuals that demand you sit and watch for the entire length of nearly seven minutes. It&#39;s an audacious&nbsp;experiment that really comes off.

Michael LeBlanc and Scott Cudmore continue on their fine run of music video work with this compellingly lurid affair for&nbsp;METZ&#39;s&nbsp;The Swimmer &ndash; a bleak, very dark comedy, with an effective punk aesthetic, and a gif-style visual conceit.Following an&nbsp;anxiety-ridden man caught in the midst of&nbsp;a&nbsp;mysterious and dire situation, the video&#39;s&nbsp;non-linear narrative lets the viewer&nbsp;piece together the connections between some rather unsettling&nbsp;scenes - including a baptism that takes place in his bathroom, and a mafia-style beating at the behest of his erstwhile nearest and dearest.&nbsp;Nasty - but also very good.

Their&nbsp;intriguing video for Belle &amp; Sebastian&#39;s Party Line -&nbsp;taken from their forthcoming new album Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance &ndash; is fine indeed. It tells the story of a girls&#39; infatuation for a young man in at least two distinct styles, giving it a different interpretation each time, to reveal more of the narrative.Scott wrote this, and Michael photographed it - in two wildly contrasting formats -&nbsp;and its dreamlike quality is emphasised by what happens on the dancefloor: a sort of Northern Soul&nbsp;ballet, choreographed by&nbsp;Robert Binet.It all leads to a poignant&nbsp;moment which is very Belle &amp; Sebastian...&nbsp;&nbsp;

Timber Timbre&#39;s&nbsp;latest album Hot Dreams has already inspired some mesmerizing videos, including&nbsp;the surreal animation of <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2014/04/15/timber-timbre-beat-drum-slowly-chad-vangaalen">Beat The Drum Slowly by Chad VanGaalen</a>, the film noir homage for <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSxZy_7Ps90" target="_blank">Curtains?! by Tyler T Williams</a>.&nbsp;And now Scott Cudmore and Michael LeBlanc&nbsp;- who directed the dreamily erotic video for the album&#39;s title track a few months ago&nbsp;- have now created something&nbsp;unsettling, surreal and suitably majestic&nbsp;for Grand Canyon. Random and impenetrable, with an obvious debt to David Lynch,&nbsp;this set of&nbsp;eerie tableaux and character portraits&nbsp;reveal themselves to be both literal translations of the song&#39;s lyrics, and an exploration of human alienation.

A soldier walks warily&nbsp;through a forest&nbsp;at the start of Ian Pons Jewell&#39;s video for Cold Speck&#39;s Absisto&nbsp;- and with good reason. All&nbsp;manner of weirdness is about to befall him.&nbsp;From the much older soldier&nbsp;howling part of the song to Cold Speck herself and her female centurions with glazed grey eyes, it makes sense that Ian&#39;s inspiration was his subconscious. As he explains below, it came to him in a&nbsp;dream.&nbsp;It was also shot in Toronto, the first video Pons Jewell has made out of his new rep for Canada - Revolver Films.
