Troy Roscoe directs a stripped-back yet hugely captivating promo for Potter Payper.&nbsp;Shot at night with a backdrop of neon shopfronts, the video features a tireless performance from Payper, whilst different characters play out their day-to-day routines.&nbsp;The approach works like a charm on this project, with the three minute runtime passing by like a bright spark, never feeling stale or tired."Simplicity is key in this one," Rocoe explains.&nbsp;"I think sometimes as creatives we overthink our ideas, trying to constantly improve on what’s already out there or to come up with something that’s not been done. But sometimes you have to reign it in and realise less is more."Shot in what was actually three takes, this one-take form visual sees Potter Payper in a dystopian-lit corner shop location, as the world around him evolves, whilst he performs in a nonchalant manner undisturbed by anything around him. Potter smashed this and took direction super well, which enabled us to shoot all of this within two&nbsp;hours!"I'm definitely going to get into more one-take content -&nbsp;or even just more tripod shots as not everything has to have crazy movement."

Lewis Cater follows the enigmatic promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2023/01/26/shinedown-dead-dont-die-lewis-cater/80130">Dead Don't Die</a> with another Shinedown collaboration - this time for A Symptom Of Being Human.&nbsp;The video deals with the unique yet universal challenges that are part and parcel of being human, touching upon anxiety, the cost of living&nbsp;and the overarching search for meaning in the everyday.&nbsp;Visually representing the highs and lows of life, the video focuses on a young girl, who discovers a book in a grand library with completely blank pages. She soon projects her fear and anxieties onto the page, until a breakthrough moment shines a light on the brighter side of life, and the friends who help her navigate the storm.[imgtoken data:1]The slick, filmic aesthetic perfectly contrasts the golden light of the library with the cold, clouded gloom of her fear vignettes, and the central performance helps marry the different setups to great effect.&nbsp;&nbsp;"There’s something quite magical about filming in London in December and we quite literally captured this underneath the festive glow of Westminster," Cater explains. "We were blessed with such an amazing team who stepped straight onto this after we wrapped on the Dead Don’t Die video."

Director duos The Rest and UNCANNY team up for an 'exercise in patience and self reflection' in the video for slowthai's Selfish.&nbsp;The video sees the artist trapped in a glass box, with nothing but paint, paper and his own reflection as company.&nbsp;Swapping out his often-cheeky persona for a much darker, introspective side of his character, the video is full of angst, fear and confusion, which is mirrored by the bubbling tension and explosive release in the cinematography.&nbsp;Opening with a slow, contained tracking shot to establish the environment, the camera soon launches into a frantic sprint from side to side, enveloping the mayhem that is unleashed on the inside of the box.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

KSI and Oliver Tree can't catch a break with the woman they love, in the offbeat promo for Voices.Directed by Oliver Tree, and infused with his unique&nbsp;brand of oddball&nbsp;comedy, we see both artists try to impress the same girl at a romantic dinner - and&nbsp;failing dismally. She sees them as being just too childish.&nbsp;From there, we see a cycle of absurdist vignettes, with big hair, streams of CGI tears and a mini-meltdown at a restaurant.&nbsp;From the unique aesthetic through to the top-notch styling and visual effects, the video is a&nbsp;tour de force&nbsp;of creativity. Will no doubt make some waves come award season.&nbsp;

Lewis Cater directs a minacious promo for Shinedown, where under the ominous surveillance of an unspecified evil, the US rock band&nbsp;look fear straight in the eye.&nbsp;The video for Dead Don't Die jumps between a rowdy performance section in an ornate structure, and enigmatic vignettes with frontman Brett, where various weapons and objects hang mid-air, threatening to break through and injure him - but unable to do so.It's a thrilling addition to both the band and Cater's videography, and packed full of filmic moments and great performances.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;&nbsp;"We shot the video for Dead Don’t Die straight after the band’s Wembley headline show last month," Cater says.&nbsp;"It was a special shoot as it was the first time that the band had shot a video outside of United States."It’s a video about resilience, the strong-willed, the bend but never break human spirit. The band use their strength within to control the darkness and retreat to a more positive space."We follow Brent (Shinedown's frontman) as he is pursued by an unspecified evil. Alex Southam directs a touching comeback promo for Robbie Williams, set in a TV studio where Robbie is being interviewed by none other than himself.&nbsp;Southam's video for Lost - and this is the Director's Cut -&nbsp;begins with the artist backstage of a talk show, ready to be interviewed by his suited-and-booted TV interrogator. Who turns out to be his&nbsp;döppelgänger.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]As Real Robbie is grilled by his alter-ego, it's a chance to recount some of the singer's most iconic moments on a&nbsp;TV screen on set. That adds to the air nostalgia, with a sense of him attempting to overcome regret, and trying to map out a way forward for the future.&nbsp;It's strong work by Alex Southam - and a fitting comeback showcase for the irrepressible Robbie.&nbsp;

KLVDR's 11 minute epic for Stormzy's big return with Mel Made Me Do It is remarkable in a number of ways, and not least of course due to the star quality and sheer number of the cameo&nbsp;appearances. And yes, that does include the Special One...More to the point is the ambition of the piece. Fom the chatshow hosted by Jonathan Ross and ZeZe Mills, with Stormz sharing the sofa with Louis Theroux and Dina Asher-Smith - watched by Usain Bolt, at his home in Jamaica -&nbsp;to performance elements in the studio and the meeting with Jose Mourihno, to the momentous final chapter bringing a couple of generations of Black British talent together that includes a tribute to the late Jamal Edwards.At that point, Stormzy hands over duties to provide the spoken-word piece called Greatness - written by Wretch 32 and read by Michaela Cole. It's a&nbsp;quietly powerful climax of an impressive and entertaining production - this was a five day shoot,&nbsp;plus shooting Bolt in Kingston - that amounts to a big statement of intent by&nbsp;Stormzy - and reminds us of his unmistakeable charisma.&nbsp;&nbsp;And of course, the eponymous Mel, stylist Melissa Holdbrook-Akpose, namechecked by Stormzy in the songtitle, is there too, both behind and in front of camera - with her lint roller.

Raja Virdi explores the thin line between good and bad for the big&nbsp;team-up of Marshmello, Mae Muller and Trippie Redd.&nbsp;The video for American Psycho takes place in a series of stylish custom-built sets, with a red and white colour scheme which represents the dichotomy of a toxic relationship.&nbsp;Muller and Redd thrive in their unique setups, and Virdi's use of dynamic transitions, animated elements and rhythmic editing keeps the video constantly engaging.[imgtoken data:1]"It was such a pleasure to direct this promo," says Virdi. "I'd been wanting to do a concept like this for a while and glad it fit the song so well. I love the themes of duality, and seeing the difference performance states of Mae between the red toxic sets and the white angelic sets."I really wanted to move the camera seamlessly between the spaces, keeping the visual constantly engaging with how we reveal new moments."Collaborating with my regular DOP Pieter Snyman and the insanely talented production designer Sarah Asmail&nbsp;ensured we found the rhythm for the piece and how best to give each space a unique feel for each artist on the song.[imgtoken data:2]"The turnaround was immense for this one with needing to shoot and deliver all within a week. But thanks to an insanely talented crew, we just about got there&nbsp;- albeit with little to no sleep, lol. Big ups to to my constant producers Joseph J Goldman and Greg Smith for pulling this one out of the bag - and MVP 1st AD Tom Kelly who made a crazy tight schedule work without compromise. The pair are then split up. Never a good sign...THE&nbsp;REST - Alex Motlhabane and Lewis Levi - ratchet up the tension throughout this enigmatic narrative, alluding to&nbsp;the legendary tale of the Creature of Bodmin Moor and a cult that feverishly worships it.SBTRKT came up with the concept, with Nila - who created the artwork that is central to the narrative. "There's a whole lot of story layers in the video which i’ll leave you to figure out!"&nbsp;SBTRKT writes under the video on YouTube. "Check the trailer which is the prequel to it!&nbsp;"The main plot for the video represents my journey through the music business - and my prior records being owned in perpetuity by someone else. A big part of my reason for taking so long to return is navigating the industry and figuring out how to own my art."&nbsp;

KC Locke teams up with Aitch for another high-concept promo, this time for In Disguise, featuring Bakar.&nbsp;The video spans a number of dynamic vignettes, effortlessly blending narrative and performance, tied together with vibrant grading.It's a new look for Aitch, keeping things fresh and unexpected after several successful collaborations with KC Locke - as KC explains.[imgtoken data:1]"Aitch wanted to switch up the vibe on this one and bring a more rock emo feeling to the video," he says. "The song is about a girl who pays Aitch no attention but secretly she’s a super fan . We created a fun narrative with a rock band performance element - which was new for me too.<blockquote>We motion-captured Aitch’s body movements which was then tracked to our CGI teddy bear.&nbsp;</blockquote>"Aitch wanted some toy teddy bears at the intro of the video, then during the treatment-writing process I decided to try bring the teddy bear to life with guidance from our VFX team."We motion-captured Aitch’s body movements which was then tracked to our CGI teddy bear - this was also another way of showing Aitch in disguise as an actual teddy bear too. After the intro we show both Aitch and the teddy bear up to no good in our living room scene with our female actress, who is not impressed by their antics.&nbsp; "We shot the whole video in our studio in Manchester, and got through 7 scenes in one day, which wouldn’t have been possible without having our own dedicated studio facilities. Production designer&nbsp;Jenny O’Sullivan worked really hard turning all the sets around in a few days with her construction team and we all really love the results."The whole team worked really hard bringing this together from producer and production to DoP, lighting, edit and colour grade, which all blended seamlessly together."
