A boy spirals headlong into&nbsp;PinkPantheress's tartan-patterned world in Ethan &amp; Tom's captivating mixed-media video for Illegal.When the boy - played by Sekou Diaby -&nbsp;opens a box of jellies and offers one to Pink, she declines. Sekou eats one, and then trips out into a vibrant animated dreamworld - comprised of Pink's unmistakeable sillhouette against rapidly changing tartan (or plaid) designs, that distinctive, Y2K-influenced aspect of her personal style. Certainly enough to put his poor head in a spin.Playfully flipping&nbsp;between the live action and the animation - created by Black Anime Animation Studio - it's a superb showcase for Pink, both&nbsp;the astute songwriter/producer and blossoming&nbsp;pop star. Ethan &amp; Tom have zeroed in upon the incisive storytelling and deadpan wit of her lyrics, her attitude and iconic look, with humour&nbsp;and visual invention.&nbsp;Following their wacky adventure last year for another unique British musical talent - <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2024/09/03/geordie-greep-holy-holy-ethan-tom/87942" target="_blank">Geordie Greep</a> -&nbsp;this is another big step forward for the directing duo into the pop world. Rodrigo Inada directs a dramatic blockbuster for Hong Kong rapper - and member of South Korean boyband&nbsp;Got7 - Jackson Wang.&nbsp;The video for High Alone explores the duality present in all of us, manifesting in&nbsp;two versions of Jackson Wang on screen: as he battles his darker self in his apartment, Inada presents a big setpiece&nbsp;with Jackson as a Houdini-style escapologist sunk into a glass box.The latter&nbsp;has a traumatic and hugely symbolic outcome: despite escaping his shackles, Jackson is trapped underwater in the glass box, to the delight of the audience of onlookers.Infused with a deep red and blue colour palette&nbsp;and a grimy, textural aesthetic, this is a cinematic vision, a powerul addition to Wang's videography - and arguably a very tough watch for his legion of fans.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

As with all elements of A Film For The Future, the 44-minute visual companion to Coldplay's tenth studio album Moon Music, the visual for WE PRAY is a compendium of creativity from directors and animators&nbsp;around the globe, in a range of disciplines and styles - brought together in what the project's executive producer (and contributor) Ben Mor has described as&nbsp;“a kaleidoscopic patchwork quilt – a 44 minute multimedia tapestry.”The whole project has involved about 150 filmmakers - and fans have also contributed, invited to remix the film. And it's really quite like the modern day equivalent of an English saucy seaside postcard.The video is a maximalist daydream, full of clashing patterns, hypnotic VFX, inspired art direction anbd cartoonish humour. And ladies of undeniable pulchitrude.Anchored by Latto's playful performance, the video features cameos from&nbsp;Rubi Rose, comedian Desi Banks, Alabama Barker, and Yadira Ramirez, who won Latto’s $10,000 “Brokey” challenge in September. Ramirez lost her job at Waffle House for joining the trend, a fact humourously referenced in the video.&nbsp;High concept and no-nonsense, the video commands attention with big ideas and bold expression. Warren Fu helms a dazzling pinball-themed promo for Megan Thee Stallion, featuring a mix of neon-drenched live action and anime sequences - where Megan is joined by K Pop star RM.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video for Neva Play finds Megan at a vibrant arcade, playing a custom pinball machine. Through the combination of images, graphics and following the speeding ball on&nbsp;the pinball machine, Fu takes into an alternative animated world - directed by Carl Jones - where the rapper meets up with her fellow icon&nbsp;Breathlessly slick from start to finish, with an electric neon colour palette and intense action segments, it is a another stirring addition to the canon of Megan Thee Stallion videos and a great example of Warren Fu imposing his stamp upon a VFX-heavy music video, so its both accessible, commercial and super-cool.&nbsp;&nbsp;Top notch stuff - and RM's animated presence is the cherry on top.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Geordie Greep whips up a storm down at the bowling alley in Ethan &amp; Tom's wonderfully weird and hilarious video for the ex-Black Midi man's debut single.Geordie performs a strange inner voice-style vocal on Holy, Holy whilst dancing a skilful salsa, supping a cocktail&nbsp;and effortlessly bowling strike after strike. It's&nbsp;Twin Peaks meets The Big Lebowski - as the first part leads into the second, where we follow the camera down the bowling lane, through a succession of black voids, like a descent into madness.The split structure of the video follows the character of the track, where the pumped-up ego of Geordie Greep's persona gradually falls apart. Lyrically it's in the same spirit of his work with Black Midi, whilst taking a slight change of direction musically - which is&nbsp;still very intense. This&nbsp;sounds a bit like Steely Dan on steroids.But putting himself front and centre in the video is certainly new and Geordie is very well served by Ethan &amp; Tom with this video. Sekou Abineri directs a mesmerising video for the return of singer-songwriter Joan Wasser - aka Joan As Police Woman - dissecting the anguish that comes with a passionate love affair through dance, on a deserted stretch of beach.Clara Davidson and Emma Aldjia Belabed play the lovers caught mid-argument in their broken-down car, as the black-clad Joan walks by and then observes how their conflict unravels via expressive movement. It's a process which explores unbridled emotion in a controlled and dramatic fashion, to accompany the delicately soulful Full Time Heist.Abineri has made this three-way performance&nbsp;from Joan and the two protagonists&nbsp;wonderfully cinematic, not least through the use of a striking location, on the Sussex coast near Hastings.
