And definitely to be enjoyed, for full explosive and comic effect,&nbsp;on the biggest screen you can find.As becoming a former Best Director winner at the UKMVAs (twice), it's probably one of the videos of the year so far.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

A robot vacuum cleaner goes walkabout in search of connection, in Aube Perrie's second video for Harry Styles.&nbsp;The video for Satellite is Perrie's follow-up to <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/10/31/harry-styles-music-sushi-restaurant-aube-perrie/79016" target="_blank">Music For A Sushi Restaurant</a>, where Harry played a captured Merman.&nbsp;This time, he hands over the spotlight, even as he is performing to thousands of&nbsp;fans on his current arena tour.&nbsp;Backstage, when a news report of the Mars Curiosity Rover appears on TV,&nbsp;the robot vacuum stops its routine business to take notice, and then takes on a life of its own.Soon we are with the little robot as it makes its determined way, out of the arena (we briefly see Harry out on stage) and into the big city, across dangerous highways, and into the surrounding country - just to get closer to that equally solitary robot on the TV. And he ends up, stargazing with none other than Mr Styles...&nbsp;This is a riveting fantasy of a quite a different type to the Sushi Restaurant video&nbsp;- warm-hearted, poignant, and probably influenced by&nbsp;several Pixar movies, including all the Toy Storys and, of course, the incredible Wall-E. But the fact is, it also looks like it was done mostly in-camera.&nbsp;Perrie gives it a beautiful visual aesthetic - and an irreverent twist -&nbsp;that sets this, and him apart from the crowd.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]

Jocelyn Anquetil directs a whimsical promo for the return of Archie Marshall, aka King Krule.&nbsp;The video for Seaforth opens with a montage of sleeping faces, including Marshall's own, before the illusory setting is washed away in a dusty haze. There is the dreamlike sensibility of a number of previous, supercool King Krule clips - but what follows in Seaforth is a definite sea-change.From Archie pondering the world on a sandy beach and in his country cottage, the focus switches to two Labrador dogs - mother and cute puppy -&nbsp;and their encounters with the human world. And the absurdity of it - cute pets in a King Krule vieo - is what makes the&nbsp;viewing experience so fun.&nbsp;Shot in&nbsp;both HD and lo-fi Mini DV, the video has a random, nostalgic aesthetic, and makes very good use of dog footage. We can only suspect that the experience on-set wasn't quite as laidback and charming as the final result...[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Hector Dockrill directs a heartwrenching promo for new Lewis Capaldi track Pointless.&nbsp;The narrative for the video captures a mother-son relationship with beautiful and heart-breaking intimacy. Spanning a couple of decades, the concept follows a&nbsp;single mother who strives against all odds to give her son the life she never had, and is packed with an emotional punch.&nbsp;With a wonderful performance&nbsp;from&nbsp;BAFTA winner Niamh Algar (The Virtues, Raised by Wolves)&nbsp;and three actors playing the son at different stages of his life - including Charley Palmer-Rothwell as her grown-up son -&nbsp;the video reinterprets the song's lyrics to explore a different type of relationship, and it works perfectly.[imgtoken data:1]The naturalistic cinematography and relatable themes help make the video feel incredibly realistic and universal, and it will no doubt have viewers thinking about their own loved ones as we enter the festive period.&nbsp;With mixed dialogue throughout, we both hear and see glimpses into the ups and downs of their daily lives over the years including financial hardship and the tightrope of being a working single parent. And in keeping with the theme of family, Laura Dockrill – Hector’s sister - wrote the script, making this a family affair both on and off screen.“Lewis had a beautiful idea that focused on the mother/son bond, and how responsibility shifts as you grow older," says Hector Dockrill. "Niamh Algar is a phenomenal talent and we’re already chomping at the bit to work together again. With only a week’s prep, she managed to immerse herself into the role and completely make it her own. KLVDR's 11 minute epic for Stormzy's big return with Mel Made Me Do It is remarkable in a number of ways, and not least of course due to the star quality and sheer number of the cameo&nbsp;appearances. And yes, that does include the Special One...More to the point is the ambition of the piece. Fom the chatshow hosted by Jonathan Ross and ZeZe Mills, with Stormz sharing the sofa with Louis Theroux and Dina Asher-Smith - watched by Usain Bolt, at his home in Jamaica -&nbsp;to performance elements in the studio and the meeting with Jose Mourihno, to the momentous final chapter bringing a couple of generations of Black British talent together that includes a tribute to the late Jamal Edwards.At that point, Stormzy hands over duties to provide the spoken-word piece called Greatness - written by Wretch 32 and read by Michaela Cole. It's a&nbsp;quietly powerful climax of an impressive and entertaining production - this was a five day shoot,&nbsp;plus shooting Bolt in Kingston - that amounts to a big statement of intent by&nbsp;Stormzy - and reminds us of his unmistakeable charisma.&nbsp;&nbsp;And of course, the eponymous Mel, stylist Melissa Holdbrook-Akpose, namechecked by Stormzy in the songtitle, is there too, both behind and in front of camera - with her lint roller.

Directing duo Machine Operated deliver an intimate documentary-style music video for Loyle Carner's Georgetown - shot in the eponymous capital of Guyana.The pair travelled with Loyle to the country of his father, documenting his&nbsp;relationship with identity, community and belonging, with cinematographers&nbsp;Dan Landin - making a rare return to music videos -&nbsp;and Ola Pontakos.It starts with the words of Guyanese playwright/poet&nbsp;John Agard reciting his poem 'Half-Caste', and from that intriguing point, the film interweaves striking portraiture with understated performance vignettes, captured in a breathtakingly cinematic way, with gorgeous composition, colour palettes and textures.&nbsp;It's&nbsp;stunning work.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Jocelyn Anquetil directs a sizzling showcase for the return of Sudan Archives - aka US singer/violinist Brittney Denise Parks - with Home Maker,&nbsp;in an unlikely setting.&nbsp;Sudan Archives struts into an indoor&nbsp;second-hand flea market to check out the furniture - dressed to kill and ready for action - with a few mesmerized males meekly in tow.&nbsp;The guys are prompted join her provocative,&nbsp;high-energy performance, and when the lights go down low, a pillow fight ensues under strobing UV lights.A diverse range of recording equipment - including&nbsp;CCTV footage and camcorders - captures the action,&nbsp;to create a world that feels anachronistic and playful, and heighten a saucy sense of voyeurism and tongue-in-cheek sexiness.With the&nbsp;inspired styling and atypical choice of location, and a terrific edit by Charlie Von Rotberg, it's a brilliantly orchestrated work by Anquetil. A day from Hell just won't let up, in&nbsp;Hector Dockrill's tragic promo for Chase &amp; Status and BackRoad Gee.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video for When It Rains features actor Jack McMullen as a down-on-his-luck everyman, trying to go about his day to day life to disastrous effect.&nbsp;It all starts with an antagonistic phone call and a cigarette lit the wrong way, and builds to a high-octane climax full of suspense, blood, chase scenes&nbsp;and the opportunity for the character to finally get the nicotine hit he's gagging for.&nbsp;Brilliant work which anchors on McMullen's performance and a Dockrill's keen eye for narrative.&nbsp;

Winston Hacking, the king of collage, now embraces the technique of photogrammetry, collaborating with Michael Enzbrunner on this video for Animal Collective.The video for We Go Back - from Time Skiffs, the first studio album by&nbsp;Animal Collective&nbsp;in more than half a decade -&nbsp;takes us through a distinct arrangement of random&nbsp;visual elements, as is a hallmark of much of Winston Hacking's work. But unlike earlier videos where he has used cut-out 2D art and collage as his practice,&nbsp;here he employs photogrammetry -&nbsp;the process that involves taking overlapping photographs of an object, structure or space and converting them into 2D or 3D digital models.Collaborating with Enzbrunner on the direction, and&nbsp;Chuck Diep on the photogrammetry, the style works well in visualizing&nbsp;Animal Collective's&nbsp;eery and somewhat disembodied version of classic pop.&nbsp;&nbsp;"It was a thrill to work with Animal Collective - they trusted our sense of play and commitment to spontaneity which is mirrored in their sound," says Hacking. "The video is composed of scanned locations, miniature sets and collage cutouts that embrace the lo-fi 3D aesthetic inherent in photogrammetry."

Hector Dockrill directs the promo Sam Fender’s Get Me Down, an emotional film symbolising the end of a relationship.The video opens with Fender revving a car engine, looking totally exhausted, moments away from speeding around a racetrack.&nbsp;A flashback montage encapsulates the ups and downs of a passionate relationship,&nbsp;flicking back and forth between memories with increasing intensity, before we return to the first frame... Fender hurtles towards a bloody accident, flipping the car, but surviving to tell the tale.&nbsp;Punchy and cinematic, the video has the same raw, authentic feel as all of the artist's videos, with an extra layer&nbsp;of action-packed drama.&nbsp;

KLVDR let&nbsp;us in on Young T &amp; Bugsey’s latest side hustle - house flipping - in the high stakes promo for Big Bidness.&nbsp;At a location somewhere in suburbia, we see the artists joined by a team of girls, ready to break in and 'repossess' the contents of&nbsp;a multimillion pound mansion.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Stefan Yap keeps the cinematography fluid yet glossy, employing unique camera moves to keep the story moving at a breakneck pace.&nbsp;Punchy and playful, it's a great spin on similar concepts, and is anchored by strong performances from all the cast involved.&nbsp;
