Joe Connor has directed a gorgeous video for legendary Japanese pop star Hikaru Utada - using in-camera ingenuity to flood the space where she dramatizes the heartfelt track Bad Mode.The video is something of a departure in style for the director, but in creating an alluringly dreamlike edge to proceedings, Hikaru comes over as both proper pop star and intriguing artist - enigmatic,&nbsp;sensitive and strong.It's courtesy of great work not only by Connor, but also DoP Alex Jamin and production design by Luke Moran-Morris. And you'll ultimately find out why the main set was built on stilts over a water tank.

Oscar Hudson&rsquo;s marvellous video for Loyle Carner manages to do something extremely rare these days &ndash; it references the old masters of music video direction, and then extends that vocabulary of visual wonder and make the seemingly impossible happen before your eyes.It begins in lo-fi home video mode, with Carner dozing on a crowded commuter train, before appearing alone in a luxurious express train &ndash; before the huge face of guest singer Jordan Rakei appears in the window. What we think is VFX trickery is in-camera trickery. And from that point on, we&rsquo;re in a train carriage with the Carner and Rakei and fellow passengers, that is constantly changing, even though the position of the camera never moves&hellip;It&rsquo;s certainly possible to describe this visual treat as Gondryesque. It is, but this is no imitation. Its pure Oscar Hudson. As well as bamboozling trickery, there are visual jokes that you won&#39;t get on first viewing. And the subject of the songtitle Ottolenghi is in the video too &ndash; famous chef Yotam Ottolenghi is the ticket collector&hellip;Within in all, Loyle Carner gives another terrific performance here &ndash; and then there&rsquo;s the price of his train ticket from East Croydon to London Bridge. Oscar Hudson&#39;s first full-length video for Radiohead arrives hot on the heels of his video for Young Martha, and it&#39;s another superb setpiece, that considering the name of the song, was just asking to be made.Thom Yorke embarks on one of the most surreal lift rides ever, and in the process taps into our anxiety about and the alienating effects of high-rise living. As with Hudson&#39;s previous work, like Bonobo&#39;s No Reason and <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/09/11/young-thug-carnage-young-martha-ft-meek-mill-homie-oscar-hudson" target="_blank">aforementioned Young Martha video</a>,&nbsp;this is very largely executed&nbsp;in-camera.All the scenes beyond the doors of the elevator&nbsp;are there, for real &ndash; only the lift display and buttons were added in post&nbsp;- <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BY_H_JCjbqr/" target="_blank">an ingenious piece of design and organisation,</a> and exemplary work by production designer&nbsp;Luke Moran-Morris, art director Mia James and their team. A&nbsp;very satisfying experience.

Oscar Hudson&#39;s piece for the last seconds of The Numbers has a young man doing some cleaning in a square room, while it fills up with sand, like a gigantic hourglass.Oscar Hudson says: &quot;I wanted to make a simple, strange scene - a peaceful moment plucked out from the middle of a dramatic narrative. It&rsquo;s a little film about time really.&quot;

Staying true to the lyric&nbsp;&#39;how come you still think that you&#39;re the one / baby I&#39;m just chewing gum until the flavour&#39;s gone&#39;&nbsp;we end on a steamy shower scene with&nbsp;Nina,&nbsp;before the wall behind her is pulled away and she runs to the&nbsp;getaway car with her&nbsp;next lover at the wheel.&nbsp;

Oscar Hudson has created a video&nbsp;for producer Gilligan Moss&#39;s distinctively skewed pop ode Choreograph that follows a tried-and-tested theme&nbsp;of exactly matching specific visuals to music elements, but then adds his own clever&nbsp;twist.Repeated moves by family members around a young man about to tuck into breakfast would obviously&nbsp;be an intensive VFX job in normal circumstances. But closer inspection reveals this scenario&nbsp;was achieved&nbsp;for real, in-camera.Not surprisingly, this required formidable&nbsp;organisation, including, as Oscar Hudson explains below, finding several sets of twins &ndash; and&nbsp;breaking lots of eggs. In the process he&#39;s&nbsp;created a sublime but eery vision of chaos - a time loop in which people do the same thing over and over, but continue to age as normal...Is Oscar trying to tell us something?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Directed by Balint Revesz &amp; Ruben Woodin Dechamps, Gengahr take a trip back to olden times&nbsp;to present a story of an angry mob in witchhunt-mode, for She&#39;s A Witch.The suspect&#39;s spouse,&nbsp;the town blacksmith,&nbsp;powerless against the bloodthirsty horde&nbsp;and perhaps joining in their suspicion,&nbsp;regretfully ties her up himself and kisses her goodbye. Instantly regretting his cowardice, he steels himself and runs out to her rescue.&nbsp;&ldquo;Maybe she&rsquo;ll sink? Maybe she&rsquo;ll fly?&rdquo; Gengahr sing, as the drama unfolds.&nbsp;There&rsquo;s plenty more action involved, but let&rsquo;s not spoil the ending...

One Night Only singer George Craig connected with OB Management and director Oscar Hudson for the promo to his band&#39;s single Plasticine.&nbsp;Produced on a small budget, Oscar shoots the band in a living room as friends and roadies start to dismantle and destroy the house, creating havoc as the Helmsley fourpiece gamely soldier on.&quot;I heard about OB management through a friend in the music industry and that they had some of the best directors and emerging talent going&quot; explains George. &quot;It made sense to go direct to them and be the first port of call.&quot;As soon as i sat down and met with Oscar Hudson i knew i wanted to work with him, the video we made together has been the best result&nbsp;we&#39;ve had since the band&nbsp;started professionally in 2007, it was also the smallest budget by a long shot, the creativity displayed from Oscar and his team was outstanding&quot;.
