Director Blythe Thomas shows why Diplo may be a great producer but should never be let near a kitchen, in the cinematic&nbsp;promo for Heartbroken, featuring Jessie Murph &amp; Polo G.&nbsp;In a neon-lit diner, we see Murph sit down in a booth having a heart to heart with a boy, as Polo G performs across the room.&nbsp;Diplo runs around the kitchen, embodying his role as a chef, until the whole thing quite literally goes up in flames. But the couple remain in the booth, unaware of the danger around them, finally working past their issues.&nbsp;There are probably a hundred better places to have such a conversation, especially given the firey circumstances,&nbsp;but it's a heartfelt concept with great performances and a captivating aesthetic - what more could you ask for?&nbsp;

But he's increasingly trapped within this guilded cage, as the repetitive demands of stardom&nbsp;start to catch up with him.[imgtoken data:1]Overseeing this is a mysterious&nbsp;woman played by&nbsp;Jordyn Woods. Is she the love of his life, his Fairy Godmother, or Daye's&nbsp;puppetmaster, pulling his strings?Machine Operated create scenarios to establish an aesthetic that is dreamily luxurious, yet fraught with danger, including a bravura 'fashion show' sequence. And the ambivalence of Woods's role is maintained until the end, as she turns back the hands of time on her diamond-encrusted watch, joins him through his adventures, and finally leads him by the hand&nbsp;to a stage - where she leaves him&nbsp;almost fully exposed.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Matoma, MNEK &amp; Kiana Ledé will their dismembered limbs to free themselves from a nasty butcher, in this splendid video by Jeff Desom and Carlos Lopez Estrada.We open in a butcher's fridge, where the three artists' heads are sitting&nbsp;detached from their bodies. Some bad stuff has been going on. We cut to their hands, which are waking each other up&nbsp;and planning a strategy to regroup with all of the missing body parts. Facing off against the brute in the kitchen chopping up meat for his shop, the body parts are skilful, brave and hilarious in executing their goal.&nbsp;With a nod to&nbsp;old time cartoons, and a hint of Tim Burton, Desom and Lopez Estrada keep the gruesome themes on a level of fun, and gore and violence to a minimum.&nbsp;DoP Patrick Jones does a great job in bringing the idea to life, juxtaposing the brown, dimly lit hues of the kitchen with the bright blue, crisp colours inside the fridge.&nbsp;Armando Vernet's inspired art direction rounds off the project, populating the world with vintage Americana and charming DIY props, amongst some clever use of VFX to tie it all together. A breath of fresh air, definitely to be enjoyed on repeat.&nbsp;

Nick Roney took The Lemon Twigs - that&#39;s teenage brothers Brian and Michael D&rsquo;Addario - to stay with his real grandparents, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, for a few days to discover what it takes to have a long-term loving relationship. In their case, one going on fifty years.And if that sounds a bit dull, it&#39;s only because we&#39;re trying not to blurt out right away that this has to be the funniest music video since... well, its actually hard to remember a funnier one.In some ways this shares characteristics with Ryan Staake&#39;s video for Young Thug&nbsp;in its meta-ness. But Roney&#39;s concept does not depend on complete believability to be thoroughly entertaining. Perhaps it&#39;s not even that original, but the important thing that it is life-affirmingly hilarious.&nbsp;In our dark times I think this video has to be classified as an absolute gift. And on Valentines Day....
