Sinclair Bryant directs a striking&nbsp;promo for Australian-British singer-songwriter and producer Charlotte Plank, diving into a world of mannequins and frozen poses.&nbsp;Leading an all-female team of HoDs - including&nbsp;Chaimuki (DoP), Naomi Feld&nbsp;(set designer), Elle Fell (stylist), Shani Mushington&nbsp;(HMU) and Sidney Williams (editor) - Bryant's video for Candy Stores is&nbsp;an editorial-style vision blurring&nbsp;the line between the artificial and the real.[imgtoken data:1]As the track builds, the magical candy store comes to life, in a surrealist twist on suburban bliss, where the bright polish of a 1950's dreamscape gives way to a darker undercurrent. With&nbsp;Plank as both performer and observer of the phenomenon, the female mannequins begin to stir.The mannequins were cleverly portrayed by a cast of real people, made possible by the work of the hair and make-up team, who crafted striking looks. It's bold work, elevated by the cast's commitment to their characters and an inspired use of styling and makeup.&nbsp;

Lauzza takes South London rapper Jim Legxacy back to school in his latest retro-inspired&nbsp;greenscreen epic.For the track Father, Jim Legxacy's journey on the bus to school is the jumping-off point into a cartoonish, primary colour version of reality. It's another exercise in slick invention from Lauzza, with a trademark lo-fi sensibility.&nbsp;Bus seats become school chairs and desks in a clever transition as the action moves to the classroom before cut-out animation takes over in a consistently imaginative vehicle for Legxacy's performance.&nbsp;As with all his recent output, this is hosted on Lauzza's own YouTube channel. Highlyy gets her fiery vengeance in Sau Ali's explosive promo for I'm OK.&nbsp;We see the Afrobeats artist&nbsp;in the middle of a rural English landscape, performing by an abandoned Range Rover. Then Ali ties her past and present together, as&nbsp;memories of Highlyy's ex and his new lover taunt her as she looks through the glass of the car.Then it all kicks off. In a cathartic rage, Highlyy smashes the car up with a baseball bat,&nbsp;eventually setting the whole thing ablaze.&nbsp;With inspired cinematography and SFX work&nbsp;- using shattered glass and punched-out holes for fresh perspectives - together with the artist's strong central performance it's a captivating watch.&nbsp;

A thoroughly enjoyable action-packed thrill ride, from the street to the heist to the payoff - followed by a trademark end-title sequence with BTS of the greenscreen shoot.&nbsp;Another quality production from the London-based director who's growing body of promos - for YT, Fimiguerro, Niko B and more -&nbsp;&nbsp;appear on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@LAUZZA" target="_blank">his own YouTube channel</a>&nbsp;rather than the artists', in the fashion of&nbsp;US director Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade platform. With her short films 8 and Because of (U),&nbsp;Commaret blends the mundane and the hallucinatory, and raw emotion meets sensory exploration.
