Selena Gomez makes herself at home in a magical house, in the gorgeous&nbsp;video for De Una Vez,&nbsp;directed by&nbsp;Tania Verduzco and Adrian Pérez, aka Los Pérez.The single marks the actor and singer’s first song to be recorded entirely in Spanish in nearly a decade, and in the&nbsp;accompanying&nbsp;video we see Gomez return to her Hispanic roots, and dreamily move past heartbreak as she traverses through rooms in a home while reflecting and signing about her growth.&nbsp;“The idea was basically a journey inside a house where Selena was going through different rooms," explain&nbsp;Los Pérez.&nbsp;"Every room has a different concept behind, that is helping us to express the emotional felling of the song. She’s forgiving and letting memories vanish away."We thought that this song needed an emotional performance, so the idea of doing this one single shot approach with hidden cuts was perfect and Selena was keen on doing it.”[imgtoken data:1]Los Pérez lean into the sensibility of magical realism for the video, utilising Mexican cultural references to that end - including the central image&nbsp;of the sacred crystal heart on Selena's chest. “We wanted to play with powerful language and images," they add. "We designed the heart (we call it the Milagro in Mexico culture) and it’s light to be a metaphor for the healing throughout the story.”The iconic look is styled by Shirley Kurata. Dressed in a stunning Rodarte’s SS21 Daisy Floral Silk dress, with jewellery by Mexican designer Daniela Villegas. <a href="https://en.vogue.me/beauty/de-una-vez-selena-gomez-interview/" target="_blank">Los Pérez also told Vogue</a>: “We wanted to play with the amazing flowers the way Frida Kahlo did, but making it modern and cool for right now. The flowers on the dress, hair, and within the video all connect with this idea of renewal.”Due to the Covid travel ban, Los Pérez ended up directing the video remotely. Which has not prevented them from creating an enchanting video.

It's for Shameless, the first single from her highly anticipated sophomore release Romance, and in a series of charged and stunning vignettes, Camila explores the inner turmoil of unrequited love.From a confessional booth to a burning courtyard to a spotlit desert surrounded by alter egos, she takes us on an impassioned symbolic journey inspired by the intense conflicting emotion in her lyrics.Burning red with passion, the video is cinematic and striking, with&nbsp;Ross Giardina's cinematography hitting all the right notes&nbsp;and Cabello's performance at her career best.

Henry Scholfield&rsquo;s latest work for Billie Eilish, sees the award winning Caviar director collaborate once again with Mosaert (Paul &lsquo;Stromae&rsquo; Van and Luc Jr Tam) on the concept. The film sees Billie with a boy in a choreographic narrative of unrequited love in a minimalist space that ebbs, flows and eventually engulfs him.Scholfield comments, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a story of suffocating love, so we had this idea that the room itself is like an extension of Billie&rsquo;s subconscious, an echo of her own emotions. Shivering in tender moments or lashing out in the pain of rejection and eventually conspiring to hold him hostage.&rdquo;The majority of the effects were captured for real, with a combination of in camera techniques and VFX where necessary. The director notes that &ldquo;it was important for us to have as much of the mechanics and movement of the space happen in camera in order to make the relationship between them and the space more tangible. Of course there was some &lsquo;enhancement&rsquo; especially with the sinews that bind him at the end.&rdquo;In reference to Billie&rsquo;s on-screen partner, Scholfield comments, &ldquo;The dancer is an amazing young talent called Deyck. Not only is he an incredible dancer, but he could play mix of softness or earnestness to juxtapose with his natural masculinity.&rdquo;On Billie, he comments, &ldquo;She has an incredible sense of self, great ideas and a confidence that lets her craft crazily compelling performances. She only admitted when pushed that she had also been a dancer and &#39;done a little acting&#39;. It was wonderful to collaborate with her... she&rsquo;s wicked talented.&rdquo;

How would you define what love is? Keith Schofield has clearly&nbsp;been giving it some thought. In his video for Bastille&#39;s Vs Grades&#39; Torn Apart, he toys with the notion of the acceptable and appropriate media-presentation of love and romance, who should be doing it with who. Even what it&nbsp;should actually look like.&nbsp;The result is jaw-dropping -&nbsp;hilarious, outrageous, brilliantly done. The performers in a couple&#39;s love dance morph continously&nbsp;into different individuals - at first within a group of bland Hollywood&nbsp;actor-types. Then it gets a lot weirder.&nbsp;Frankly, you&nbsp;could watch it 20 times without being slightly spooked by the introduction of, for example, the featureless 3D animated man. And then there&#39;s the alien genetalia...&nbsp;Acceptable norms, even of sexual positions, are well and truly chewed up, and spat out.In a way, Torn Apart is&nbsp;a companion piece to last year&#39;s brilliant Darwin Deez video for&nbsp;You Can&#39;t Be My Girl - where Keith Schofield&nbsp;placed the geeky&nbsp;Darwin tantalisingly close but still out of&nbsp;reach of&nbsp;the mainstream perfection, as defined by&nbsp;stock library footage. The delivery is&nbsp;fiercer here - but both prove that Keith Schofield&#39;s comic genius is no better&nbsp;served than by the music video medium. Where would we be without that cocktail of&nbsp;VFX-augmented visual humour and genuine satire?&nbsp;Long may it continue. Hats off to&nbsp;Bastille, commissioner James Hackett and Virgin EMI for this wonderfully bold commission.&nbsp;And thank god for Keith Schofield. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
