Mura Masa teams up with The Reid Brothers&nbsp;for this wonderful docu-style promo for&nbsp;new track Whenever I Want.&nbsp;A nod to the documentary sensibilities of the directors, the video feels like part promo and part photographic exploration of the euphoria of the dance floor, with cues taken from the world of Northern Soul&nbsp;and post-COVID dance freedoms.Featuring a coruscating loop of different characters, all enamored by the dancefloor experience, the video pulsates to&nbsp;a hypnotic rhythm which builds to a kaleidoscopic climax - beautifully photographed by sibling directors Will and Ed Reid.&nbsp;It's a simple and understated video which delivers its message clearly and with an abundance of character&nbsp;- simplicity is key.&nbsp;And if full-length videos are now regarded as 'longform' then this video fully embraces that idea. Thomas Davis directs a love letter to early computer animation, in his visualiser for Biig Piig.&nbsp;The video opens with the artist putting on a VR headset, and being pulled into a playful, candy-coloured world inhabited by skeletons, teddy bears and uncanny doppelgangers.&nbsp;The vibrant, intentionally rudimentary animation calls back to early Noughties music vids - anyone remember <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQCQnARnKbc">Sweet Like Chocolate by Shanks &amp; Bigfoot</a>? - whilst interweaving contemporary elements at the same time.&nbsp;Marvellous work.&nbsp;

An unlikely protagonist gets the release we're all yearning for, in Thomas Davis' action-packed promo for NOISY's Young Dumb.&nbsp;Having established a relationship with the group on a number of previous videos, Davis takes a more narrative direction with this one, which follows an old man making the most of a post-lockdown world.&nbsp;From choreography in the street to smoking a joint and ending up at a packed club, the man - brilliantly played by&nbsp;Andrew Norman - embodies our collective fantasies of getting out and finally being able to live life to the full again, and Davis heightens this fantasy through a stylish and invigorated lens.&nbsp;Paying homage to iconic 90's videos whilst being simultaneously imbued with a contemporary aesthetic, it's a spectacular watch, and possibly Davis' best video yet for the NOISY boys.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]THOMAS DAVIS:<blockquote>I wanted to make a video that was flamboyant and memorable.</blockquote>“I’m always buzzing to be working with NOISY. These boys always write absolute belters of tunes. This one especially, I felt like the video really needed to represent the current climate in the world, but in an outrageous way. It all sorta just clicked in place. I had recycled a few scenes from other videos that I had pitched in the past year, but they never got commissioned. Like the toilet scene with the water bottle, that was part of another pitch that wasn’t as successful. A group of young people attend Rave Rehab, in Dan French's fun-filled promo for Navos.&nbsp;The video for Believe Me explores the gap left in our lives by the lack of dancefloor action through&nbsp;lockdown -opening with a hilarious monologue from one of the participants during a group therapy sessio.&nbsp;The video then spirals into surreal classroom setups, VR mini raves&nbsp;and a collective party on the rooftop of the facility.&nbsp;Wonderfully executed, the dichotomy of the almost dystopian aesthetic paired with vintage snippets of real nightclubs is nostalgic and yearning, and anchors the concept in our current reality.&nbsp;

Gwil Doe is back behind the camera with this&nbsp;stripped-back and saucy promo for rising star&nbsp;Gabi’el.&nbsp;Shot in a&nbsp;minimalist monochrome style, the sharp and quirky&nbsp;Gabi'el steals the show in bondage-esque latex&nbsp;costumes and impressive choreography and body contortion.The pace is frenetic, and the&nbsp;use of lip-sync trickery by&nbsp;slowing down the track and ramping it up in the edit creates a futuristic and otherworldy vibe. And Jaime Ackroyd's high contrast cinematography utilises a white infinity cove alongside select props and&nbsp;mise-en-scène, pushing the barebones setup to ambitious heights.“I used my limitations as an opportunity to see how creative I could be with very little," says Doe. "I want to maximise the minimal.” And that’s exactly what he has done.&nbsp;

Mr Yankey takes us straight into the ring with Ric Flo, where the syllables bounce like quick jabs and the rap/pop culture punchlines are solid right hooks.&nbsp;In fact,&nbsp;the charismatic Flo is in the centre of a boxed set. The camera whips around him, punctuated by his punchlines as he performs against ever-changing backdrops that are representative of his lyrics. Almost as though we’re being whipped around the inside of a Rubik cube.When we reach a new end position the scenery has suddenly changed. As though each punch has knocked us into another world without leaving the room, keeping the audience on their toes, guessing what the next hit is going to deliver.&nbsp;And you may&nbsp;end up on the canvas.&nbsp;

The video for Ottolenghi is a hard act to follow, but Louis Bhose puts his own marvellous spin on the world of Loyle Carner in the new video for You Don&#39;t Know.&nbsp;He does a great job&nbsp;- with help from the rapper&#39;s mum.As Loyle Carner&#39;s close relationship with his mother Jean Coyle-Larner is well known, his fans will instantly relate to this comedic scenario, where Loyle tries to keep tabs on his mum on various dates, occupying every job going down at her favourite restaurant, from sommelier to CCTV security to cab driver.Loyle mainly plays a melancholy cocktail barman, in a decent double act with his guest rapper Rebel Kleff. But it turns out that Jean has real star quality too. If you squint, there&#39;s even a passing resemblance to ubiquitous screen star Olivia Colman.And it reaches a peak of charm with Jean having dinner and a lovely chat with none other than poet and national treasure Benjamin Zephaniah.&nbsp;A great result for everybody.&nbsp;&nbsp;
