Anne-Marie finds good reason to suspect that Aitch is up to no good, in Samuel Douek's entertaining video for Psycho.Douek creates a boisterously colourful, almost cartoonish series of environments in which Anne-Marie can wreak havoc upon Aitch's attempts at serial cheating. The director's approach gels nicely with the light-hearted tone of the collaboration between two of the UK's biggest pop stars.And he gets sterling support from the production design by&nbsp;Tilda Bonham Carter, styling by Cora Delaney and Justin Rose, and the casting of Aitch's numerous other girlfriends.[imgtoken data:1]"The idea of the video was to empower anyone who has been in Anne-Marie’s position before," says Douek. Jessie Ware takes to the pulpit&nbsp;to preach tolerance and self-expression, in Vicky Lawton's effervescent visual&nbsp;for Free Yourself.When Jessie enters a large room, striding majesterially through a parting crowd in her&nbsp;flowing red gown, there is a spark of anticipation. Then&nbsp;she begins to perform, the super-cool and buttoned-up throng she is addressing start to respond to her words. And soon the group are giving themselves up to Jessie's commands - and being their full unbridled selves.&nbsp;With her strong sense of fashion, Lawton gives the video a twist of sophisticated&nbsp;rock 'n roll decadence, but with the added element of euphoria which feels contemporary and certainly works with the uplifing nature of the track and Ware's remarkable voice.[imgtoken data:1]"As soon as I heard the track, I knew it had to be a celebration - a&nbsp;moment of joy, freedom of expression and individuality," says the director. "It’s all there in the lyrics - 'free yourself'. [I was] Imagining a gathering of like-minded free-loving folk at a stately home, very 70’s rock n'roll - but with a pinch of the occult thrown in."Knowing I’d want to make the tone provocative, I needed to ensure there was the class and sophistication in the visuals to keep it chic. That meant keeping mystery and intrigue at the forefront, using references of decadence, silhouettes to tease and a heavenly glow throughout. That’s where working with Rob Jarvis, DOP was a delightful experience - he has an eye for controlled compositions and a painterly effect when it comes to the use of light."Within this setting, Jessie is a true performer. Her ability to be the authoritarian preacher to the crowd of dancers in the start of the film, and get within the group towards the end and let loose was masterful to watch."

Ellie Goulding is trapped in a simulated dreamworld, in Sophia Ray's spectacular promo for Easy Lover, featuring Big Sean.&nbsp;The eccentric promo was shot in Sofia, Bulgaria, and explores a world whose characters aren't quite what they seem. In fact,&nbsp;they are Sims-like videogame characters that have found themselves in un-virtual reality...[imgtoken data:1]"It was inspiring to get the initial brief from Nathan Klein -&nbsp;Ellie's Creative Director - for this video, as he really mapped out the creative mood he wanted to take this new era for Ellie in, and gave me a lot of visual references to latch on to," says Ray."The concept of the video is based around these mysterious sim-like creatures, called Skins. These Skins are being controllable game-like characters - that live out bizarre 'realistic' lives in what appears to be a 'real' world. How and what is controlling them, however, remains unclear."The more the audience watch, the more we see the world and these Skins start to glitch and malfunction, giving the impression of a synthetic wider world where nothing is quite as it seems."The expansive world is created through stylish set design, otherworldly locations and a sense of enigmatic mystery, which perfectly encapsulates the artificial world Goulding inhabits.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]"Ellie wanted to play a few of the Skin characters in this world, where she could have a bit of fun with her styling and characterisation," continues Ray. "It was so cool to work with her and see these playful sides of her come out as she got into character."It was such a fun three-day shoot, as we travelled all over Sofia, Bulgaria shooting in crazy locations and finishing on a more chilled studio-build day, where we shot our game cube 'dollhouse' set up. Roisino's directs the video for Baby Queen's Wannabe as a cartoonish version of a band's early steps to rock stardom, with Bella Latham (aka BQ) and her colourful buddies lounging in a chaotic 'green room' area, before a triumphant live performance to enthusiastic fans.Tapping into the penetrating self-analysis that you get with every Baby Queen song, Roisino drew on their own teenage&nbsp;experiences hanging with friends who had bands that were trying to make it, and trying to be cool.[imgtoken data:1]"The narrative of ‘Wannabe’ is a satirisation of anyone who doubted Baby Queen’s musical abilities," says Roisino.&nbsp;"We follow Bella in a vintage surrealist world; a chaotic yet stereotypical green room, through to an onstage pop queen hero moment."Drawing references from instinctual play in youth; I referred back to a time in my life between fifteen and eighteen&nbsp;whereby I was constantly surrounded by bands, always at soundcheck and hanging out in the green room."We definitely weren’t considered cool, but it was a period of time in my life that is unmatched in terms of its feeling of unification through difference. We were the misfits, the oddballs, the weirdos and wannabes; the kids that wouldn’t ever make it. Look at us now."

Sparks fly and chaos reigns when Kylie comes to Jessie Ware's restaurant, in Sophie Muller's brilliant Telenovella-style video for Kiss Of Life.&nbsp;Kylie plays a mysterious dinner guest, secretly a critic out to deliver the verdict on the place&nbsp;run by the indominable Jessie, among an outrageously larger-than-life bunch of&nbsp;fellow diners. The mini-dramas of the women's rivalry plays out like an '80s Latin soap opera, with further nods to early Almodovar, and a bit of silent comedy for good measure - plus a cast from a Fellini movie&nbsp;-&nbsp;shot on authentic video camera equipment from the period, for that genuine oversaturated look. Phew.[imgtoken data:1]Muller's latest video for&nbsp;Kylie is also her second collaboration with creative director and performance director&nbsp;Theo Adams, after the Kylie and Years &amp; Years video for A Second To Midnight, and together they have a devised this delicious scenario in which both Kylie and Jessie play their parts - and perform the song - with suitable relish. In fact, could this&nbsp;be Kylie's first role in a soap since leaving Neighbours...?Adams says of collaborating on the music video with Muller: “It all happened quite organically between us both sitting at her kitchen table cackling away coming up with this fever dream of chaos!"Adams was responsible for recruiting the&nbsp;amazing cast of performers in the video, including&nbsp;nightlife royalty Princess Julia, among others. They are&nbsp;indeed the&nbsp;Theo Adams Company, and they play such a crucial role in bringing effervescent chaos to proceedings -&nbsp;shot in a real&nbsp;Italian restaurant in London's Covent Garden,&nbsp;the garishly maximalist Ave Mario's.[imgtoken data:2]As a result of the location choice, the whole video was shot overnight, when the restaurant was closed. And the&nbsp;shoot itself was undertaken rather like an episode of an 80s Telenovella, as Sophie Muller explains.&nbsp;“The video was all shot on an 80’s news camera - the ikegami 79D three-tube 1980’s colour portable - at a hair raising speed," she says. "And considering the hellishly late night/early morning hours of the shoot, everyone contributed their finest performances.”Apart from the necessary element of chaos - which was possibly quite easy to achieve - the whole&nbsp;kaboodle plays to the artists' strengths. The food connection works for Jessie Ware (cookery writer and podcaster as well as consummate soul singer) and the outrageously camp scenario obviously fits the&nbsp;Kylie iconography&nbsp;like a glove.&nbsp;But not only is this arguably the campiest video she's ever done, she looks utterly iconic in this. And she is funny.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:3]As has been <a href="https://www.wmagazine.com/culture/kylie-minogue-jessie-ware-kiss-of-life-fashion" target="_blank">pointed out elsewhere</a>, the video is also a haute couture spectacle - with the leading ladies decked out in Saint Laurent and Valentino&nbsp;- and this certainly involved a larger than normal&nbsp;glam squad. And it culminates with a rare music video monologue from Kylie, who reads out her five-star review of the restaurant as she types it up on an old typewriter. Well, she's tapping the keys anyway...It's so good. And after this, apparently there's a Kylie collab with disco queen Gloria Gaynor to look forward to...

Baby Queen is stuck in a drug-fuelled haze in Homevideo's new promo for These Drugs.&nbsp;Through a handful of surreal vignettes, we see the artist enclosed in an interchangeable bathroom set, isolated and alone.&nbsp;The vibrant colours and&nbsp;elevated art direction provide a clever dichotomy to the lyrics, whilst Baby Queen's understated performance perfectly reflects the solemn, cyclical themes of the track.&nbsp;Packed full of abstract lighting&nbsp;and off-kilter camera movement, DoP&nbsp;Arran Green cleverly gives each vignette its own style and aesthetic, whilst keeping the core structure the same,&nbsp;helping encompass the idea of cycles and repetition.&nbsp;

Henry Scholfield gets back together with Dua Lipa for a kind of sequel to the MVA-winning, near-billion viewed global smash New Rules.&nbsp;Once again Scholfield visualises the singer&#39;s internal argument with a consummate display of choreography and camera trickery. And this time there are, appropriately, two Duas. There&#39;s the stronger defiant Dua and her softer confused counterpart, figuring out how to deal with a lingering ex. And both are flanked by mirror-imaged dance squads.The constantly moving camera brilliantly merges the two groups, in a video that Scholfield conceptualised with Moseart - that&#39;s Paul &lsquo;Stromae&rsquo; Van Haver and his creative director Luc Junior Tam.&nbsp;&ldquo;I wanted the conflict between Dua&rsquo;s two alter-egos to become an emotional exchange in their movement,&quot; says Scholfield.&nbsp;&quot;I had the chance to work with the fantastic Marion Motin, to create a choreography that is something you sense/feel rather than just watch. Dua and I devised a way to make her two alter egos opposing, and she did an amazing job at personifying them in her performance, without missing a step... literally.&ldquo;For the concept, we wanted to embody the sense of empowerment in the track, whilst going beyond the literal breakup context. A visual of the internal struggle, showing the two sides of Dua&rsquo;s emotive state, like an argument with someone you love. The strong Dua at first berating then eventually persuading her weaker alter ego that they both don&rsquo;t give a f***.&rdquo;
