Vincent Haycock directs an offbeat, lo-fi promo for LA rapper Maxo.The video for Donahoo's Chicken sees a group of young men in a bathroom, playing the track (and performance visual) on one of their phones.&nbsp;Moments later, a fight erupts between the men, and we see the scuffle interspersed with footage from the phone, which continues to play amongst the mayhem.&nbsp;Shot in a DIY style, the video builds to a very surreal moment at the end. It's part of the off-kilter visual landscape for the new Maxo album, Mars Is Electric, that was first previewed with Haycock's&nbsp;video for first single&nbsp;Human?

And its actually rooted in old school handmade animation styles you might find in the past in&nbsp;videos for more leftfield&nbsp;artists&nbsp;-&nbsp;it's even quite Gilliam-esque&nbsp;at times - that has been overhauled and turbo-charged by technology.So The Last Dance With Mary Jane video is another breakthrough, where AI is not the story - but doing an excellent job serving the story. This is a The Truman Show situation.With a gritty, dystopian aesthetic and an otherworldly feel throughout, the pensive concept is elevated by lingering, mysterious camerawork and an uncanny vibe.
