Edem Wornoo brings us into a hazy, blissed-out world of super-chilled and silver-hued folk for singer-songwriter Ash Carvell, aka&nbsp;Quarry.Warnoo's video for Sound Of Your Summer&nbsp;has taken a while to see the light of day. It's significant as it marks the start of his journey as a music video director - which has seen him go on to work with the likes of Dave and Stormzy."Two and a half years ago, I was broke doing whatever I could to get on set and applying for any job I could find with 'creative'&nbsp;in the title - I didn’t get a single one," he recalls.&nbsp;"Then, one faithful day, I got a completely random email from Connor O'Hara and Jamie Gamache at Lowkey Films telling me that they were fans of my work (which at the time was a few super low budget shorts and music vids). We started pitching on videos and the first video that we landed was this."The video&nbsp;was in purgatory for two years and just when I thought it’d never come out, it dropped online. This videos special to me because it has what I can only describe as a magical thread that’s woven throughout every scene that I still strive for till this day. I couldn’t thank Connor, Jamie and everyone else at Lowkey enough for the adventures we’ve had making crazy vids in even crazier circumstances."

Ground Work have announced the signing of writer and director Edem Wornoo to their commercial and music video roster worldwide.Wornoo is known for his music videos for the likes of Dave, Stormzy, Fredo, Big Zuu and Wretch 32 alongside his carefully constructed, poignant narrative work. Thematically, his work consists of street level fantasies that draw out the magic in the people, places and things that he grew up around in South London. His recent short Butterfly Affect explores the emotional consequence of toxic masculinity in boys.Having first collaborated through the Three Minutes programme, Ground Work and Wornoo have already cultivated a strong working relationship across several productions.“New beginnings are a beautiful thing”, says Wornoo, “I’m growing into myself every day as a director and it’s a blessing to be able to do that with my friends at Ground Work. I love the fact that we share a passion for pushing artistic boundaries with good humans and even better vibes. We’ve already made some magical videos that I hold close to my heart and we have no plans of stopping anytime soon.”Aaron Z. Edem Wornoo directs a reflective promo for Tik-Tok sensation Zakhar.&nbsp;The video touches upon the artist's self-belief and his mission to prove doubters wrong, and was filmed on the&nbsp;Islington block in which he lives.&nbsp;The cinematic visuals make excellent use of light and silhouette, and understated VFX that renders Zakhar's pals as invisible, Wornoo teases elements of a narrative,&nbsp;whilst keeping the focus on Zakhar's introspective but compelling performance.&nbsp;Boasting a confident and assured energy, something tells us 2022 will be a big year for the newcomer - and indeed the creative team behind the dynamic video.&nbsp;

Big Zuu, JME and Novelist mete out some revenge on their haters in Edem Wornoo and Claymation maestro William Child's collaboration for Offline.With the track directed at the internet trolls who have doled out abuse online to each artist, Wornoo and Child have created a visual that allows each rapper to find their own chief&nbsp;tormentor and deliver some justice, in full-bodied Claymation-style.&nbsp;Wornoo developed the concept for the video, and then brought it to Child's studio, Gravy Mercedes, in Bristol, to bring it to life. It's the first time they have worked together - indeed the first time Child has co-directed a project.[imgtoken data:1]“OTT violence is always a lot of fun in Claymation," notes Child. "And it feels like a great medium to reflect Zuu, JME and Nov’s performance personas as funny, chilled guys....until you f*ck-around-and-find-out that they don’t take insults lightly.”<blockquote>OTT violence is always a lot of fun in Claymation.</blockquote>"This video is a homage to a time before we could hide behind screens, a time when words and actions held consequences," says Wornoo, adding that Child's attention to detail during its production was something to behold.&nbsp;“He should have his own TV show because every time his Claymation brought one of our scenes to life I genuinely laughed out loud.”The video shows Child leaning into Wornoo’s 'street level fantasy'&nbsp;incorporating luminescent lighting that adds a somewhat dream-like quality.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]In addition, with the help of DoP Luke Harper and compositor Harry Davidson, the video features live action footage interspliced on TV screens in the stop-motion world, recorded on a FLIR thermal imaging camera, with its own punchy in-camera colour scale. The directors were able to bridge the two worlds harmoniously.“It was my first time sharing directing responsibilities with someone else, meaning a totally different workflow to that I’m used to," he&nbsp;says of the production which was created in both Bristol and London.&nbsp;“Edem is incredibly talented and the clarity of his initial vision for the video made it super easy to understand and then execute.&nbsp;Between Edem’s on- point notes and Ground Work’s meticulous production, it made for a great experience for my first time collaborating in this way.”

Wretch 32 worked with director Edem Wornoo on this epic 11-minute short film weaving tracks from his Little BIG Man project&nbsp; - a nine-track meditation on incarceration, violence and poverty - into a narrative about the cycle of reoffending, inner turmoil and home.Shot on location in London, the film explores themes of work, community and performance with scale and sensitivity.Last year, Wornoo was one of five unsigned British directors to win a place on <a href="https://threeminut.es/" target="_blank">Three Minutes</a> – Ground Work’s incubator scheme funding five music videos by rising talents.The scheme is produced in association with our production company Ground Work and made possible by Burberry, Shure and BFI NETWORK. The project has also received funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.

Fredo and Dave's collaboration on Money Talks gets a tremendous visual directed by Edem Wornoo, as we follow the story of how a £50 note ended up on the rappers' extraordinary mountain of money - that they then set alight.From the spectacular beginning, things only get more impressive. Essentially, Money Talks is about our relationship with money as humans and the ways in which it reveals things about us. And this is a hugely powerful video for Friedo and Dave's incendiary track.Through the course of the video&nbsp;we move steadily backwards, and in each superbly mounted sequence, Fredo and Dave defy logic by performing in sync while the footage is clearly moving in reverse. But that is only partly about a clever visual technique. It is also a drama, where the unsavoury human behaviour that revolves around the journey of this substantial banknote is unveiled.A story of the corrupting power of money that is brilliantly told by Edem, a very impressive new directing talent.
