Timothy Saccenti directs a super-intense&nbsp;performance promo for Metallica.&nbsp;Following the hypnotic promo for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u-7rWKnVVo" target="_blank">Lux Æterna</a>&nbsp;- also directed by Saccenti -&nbsp;that was released at the end of 2022, the video for Screaming Suicide is more of an intimate portrait of the band, focusing on their performance in a simple yet striking way.&nbsp;The energy is electric, as to be expected, and the gritty black and white aesthetic gives the whole thing a grungy, minacious feel.&nbsp;

Andrew Donoho dives head-first into hyperreality, and emerges triumphant in the video&nbsp;for&nbsp;Paul McCartney and Beck's reworking of Macca's Find My Way - by bringing Beatle-era Paul to the modern world, and beyond.&nbsp;&nbsp;The retro-tinged video for Find My Way features mesmerising set pieces, flamboyant choreography and, most crucially,&nbsp;one of the most high-profile and surely most effective and enjoyable employments of Deepfake technology (courtesy of VFX outfit Hyperreal) so far witnessed.[imgtoken data:1]Hallucinatory visions merge into abstract silhouettes and endless computer generated environments, amalgamating in a strangely sensual piece of cinema. The 'realness' of the youthful McCartney as he walks and dances through these environments is utterly convincing, but Donoho's approach is to promote and heighten the sense of wonder rather than add a surrounding reality to overly fool or confuse the viewer.And it's a joy, down to the reveal of Beck as the imposter Paul at the end - in fact, 'Young Paul' is played by Jordan Johnston. Alex Southam&#39;s welcome return to music videos for Death Cab For Cutie&#39;s excellent Gold Rush is&nbsp;a potent reflection on how the personality of an ordinary neighbourhood is destroyed by popularity.&nbsp;Death Cab&#39;s frontman Ben Gibbard&nbsp;takes a stroll down the street&nbsp;in his neighbourhood, and in doing so takes a journey through the ages. The city block may not change but Gibbard walks past the characters&nbsp;who inhabited the area over several decades. And as he approaches the present-day, the people become more gentrified, more homogeneous.And much more numerous. Gibbard&#39;s progress is finally stopped by a solid mass of people coming the other way - mostly staring into their phones, of course. It&#39;s a&nbsp;powerful&nbsp;metaphor on the way we live now.&nbsp;

Florence has come out the other side of the wreckage. For the&nbsp;final chapter of The Odyssey, the film project created to&nbsp;accompany her album How Big How Blue How Beautiful&nbsp;- and also <a href="http://florenceandthemachine.net/" target="_blank">now available to view in full</a>&nbsp;- Florence and Vincent Haycock have&nbsp;come up with a forward-looking&nbsp;finale.The chapter to accompany Third Eye&nbsp;begins&nbsp;on an image of Florence being carried away from fiery rubble, and this revisits many of the themes from the previous chapters one last&nbsp;time. But Florence is now untethered to the demons that had followed her up till now.&nbsp;The video is just a great closing statement -&nbsp;life-affirming and filled with cheer. It&nbsp;takes place at&nbsp;nighttime&nbsp;on the street&nbsp;in front of a dazzling&nbsp;concert hall,&nbsp;where we follow Florence down&nbsp;into the depths of the&nbsp;basement.&nbsp;There,&nbsp;she&nbsp;gets swarmed by dancers&nbsp;once again, in a scene that&nbsp;is highly reminiscent of What Kind Of Man and Delilah.&nbsp;But quickly the tone quickly turns lively and reverent, and then poignant when&nbsp;Florence is led by a musician&nbsp;back onto the&nbsp;stage.

Soon after, she enters&nbsp;a&nbsp;vortex of religious symbolism,&nbsp;characterised by painterly compositions&nbsp;reminiscent&nbsp;of baroque&nbsp;paintings alongside sequences of&nbsp;what appear to be&nbsp;cult members&nbsp;in&nbsp;writhing prayer.The video mirrors elements we&#39;ve seen previously, such as the&nbsp;confrontational&nbsp;mob,&nbsp;the frenzied dance sequences&nbsp;and doubled&nbsp;Florences.&nbsp;However,&nbsp;Delilah is&nbsp;also full of thrilling and unexpected&nbsp;imagery&nbsp;such as a nightmarish vision&nbsp;of a&nbsp;demon looming over her sleep - inspired by gothic masterpiece <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nightmare" target="_blank">The Nightmare</a> &ndash;&nbsp;and the unveiling of Florence&#39;s double as someone else, someone who is not really her.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Syndrome has delivered&nbsp;the a delightful and hilarious&nbsp;promo for&nbsp;Action Bronson&#39;s track Actin&#39; Crazy from his upcoming album Mr. Wonderful.&nbsp;Shot all in one take, the sequence has Bronson&nbsp;casually&nbsp;strut&nbsp;out of his dressing room, cereal bowl in hand before positioning himself in a greenscreen studio to treat the camera to a game of&nbsp;charades.&nbsp;We&#39;re not left guessing very long as to&nbsp;what&#39;s on his mind, as VFX artists have&nbsp;really gone to town on the footage and placed Bronson in a series of spectacular&nbsp;adventures. Then he takes a break to get for a bit more hair and makeup love, and some more cereal...&nbsp;A rap video that doesn&#39;t take itself too seriously, and that&#39;s why we love it!
