Aidan Zamiri coaxes a mesmerising&nbsp;rock 'n roll performance from London-based Welsh singer-songwriter Tiberius b&nbsp;in the&nbsp;video for Jetski... featuring pigeons.&nbsp;In&nbsp;a barely furnished&nbsp;apartment, Tiberius b recounts the lyrical journey of meeting someone at a party&nbsp;and the chaos&nbsp;that ensues, in a unabashed display of raw power and sexuality. From them lying on the bare wood floor to writhing on the sofa,&nbsp;Zamiri's fluid camera captures their antics, then introduces the presence of their band, adding to the sense of dangerous immediacy.Then things get really messy, as a pigeon appears in the ruckus, followed by another and then a whole flock, doing what pigeons do...&nbsp;&nbsp;a surreal moment to underline the emotion. That suits the track's enigmatic&nbsp;style, and&nbsp;Aidan Zamiri's love of blending fashion aesthetics with off-the-wall ideas.&nbsp;It's another smash from the director, in the arresting lo-fi manner he has brought to his recent work for FKA twigs ad Jockstrap. One that you won't be able to scrub from your mind anytime soon.&nbsp;

Andrew Thomas Huang directs a brilliantly arresting promo for Björk's Ancestress, exploring&nbsp;the idea of death and the rituals we partake in at the end of our loved one's lives, and pays homage to&nbsp;Björk's mother, who passed away in 2018.In stark contrast to the hypnotic, fungi-inspired video for her previous release, this concept is a visualisation of catharsis, a goodbye that only Björk - and her creative collaborators - could create, something&nbsp;raw yet breatktakingly abstract and artistic.She leads a funeral procession of mourners through amazing Icelandic landscapes, her face shrouded by a veil, establishing a tone and atmosphere which is virtually operatic.&nbsp;For Huang, who has memorably collaborated with&nbsp;Björk on several videos, including Mutual Core and The Gate, this sees him forego use of VFX for an entirely cinematic approach, but with its use of colour, costume, choreography and sheer scale this is still so characteristically his work.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Upon release, Björk put out an Instagram post about her struggle with attending funerals, and how her idea of rituals have always been different to tradition.&nbsp;"When the soul sets off, it needs to be outside so there is room for how enormous it becomes when it merges with the elements," she says.This video represents&nbsp;an idealistic send-off from her own perspective, and is heart-wrenchingly beautiful in every way. Truly outstanding work.&nbsp;

Being both super-cool and completely grounded is not easy but Oscar Boyson hits the sweet spot in his video for the returning Phoenix, plus Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, for Tonight.Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars and the rest of the band are in Paris, of course, while Koenig is hanging out in Tokyo. The screen is split throughout to accommodate footage from both cities, including performances from the artists. It's smoothly cosmopolitan, with simple visual tricks bringing the two elements together, and the cinematography by DoP Zack Spiger is marvellous.The way its made also gives the sense of work being done, and the song actually being created. It's artful but it also feels authentic.

Kasper Häggström creates a brilliantly absurd satire for this&nbsp;previously unreleased Radiohead track.​A spectacularly surreal&nbsp;premise is delivered in the Norwegian&nbsp;director's&nbsp;characteristically precise and measured fashion&nbsp;-&nbsp;people in suits are standing in fields, moors and woods - like grazing animals - being rounded-up&nbsp;by a trio of&nbsp;farm hands. And this leaves the viewer plenty of room to ponder the significance&nbsp;and symbolism of&nbsp;they are witnessing.[imgtoken data:1]Ultimately, it turns out that these creatures are being returned to what would be regarded as their natural habitat - a timely comment on the post-lockdown moment and rush back to 'normality'. But by this point you may be sighing with relief.Radiohead have taken Häggström into a darker level of comedy&nbsp;than&nbsp;we have seen in his previous videos, which is a fascinating development. He looks like a very good match for the great alt-rock&nbsp;band.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Having collaborated with Headie One and Fred again.. on her latest release, FKA twigs has collaborated&nbsp;with director Emmanuel Adjei on the magisterial video for Don't Judge Me - a metaphorical exploration of&nbsp;the experience of being Black and British today.This is&nbsp;a double whammy of two distinct sequences that have their own riveting quality, and then weave together towards the greater message. Like most things created by twigs and Adjei - directors who are working together for the first time -&nbsp;they gradually create&nbsp;an indelible&nbsp;impression.[imgtoken data:1]On the one hand, there is twigs herself, sitting in a chair&nbsp;a grand room in a grand English house. But can she escape what reveals itself to be a gilded cage. Before she can get through the door of the room, unseen forces drag her back to the chair. When she negotiates the door, she only gets so far before flying back to her first position once again. It's a continual struggle, which increasingly calls upon angular choreography as well as wirework.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;And then in a mysterious counter-scenario to twigs's struggles, we are taken into another scene, the details of strange and shocking&nbsp;sculpture, and the people surrounding it. The artwork is Kara Walker's fountain sculpture Fons Americanus, a&nbsp;satirical take on a classic Victorian mode of art, cast in concrete - which has exhibited at the Tate Modern in London. The cast around the sculpture are eminent Black Britons - listed below - who have shared a particular struggle, shaped by&nbsp;cultural, systemic and structural biases,&nbsp;to be who they have become.[imgtoken data:2]"From someone’s appearance, we are unable to judge whether a person discriminates over colour, sex, religion, or gender," says Emmanuel Adjei, talking about the theme of The Invisible Oppressor, which has informed the video for Don't Judge Me.&nbsp;"The oppressors within the people surrounding us, most often remain invisible until their abuse against others is revealed. This is one of the reasons why, for generations, discrimination is so hard to fight. Who must the victim fight against if it can’t identify the perpetrator?[imgtoken data:3]"In this audio-visual document we get to witness artists FKA Twigs and Headie One, amongst other Black British influentials, fighting against invisible forces of judgement and oppression. Having the enormous Victorian-inspired fountain 'Fons Americanus'&nbsp;by visual artist Kara Walker - depicting the historical, sorrowful story of slavery and colonization - as our setting, and particularly as the spirit of the film, this important monument creates another layer of depth and meaning to an invisible yet shared history."

An ongoing personal project that Diana Kunst has been pursuing with her friend&nbsp;and muse Guindilla Ontanaya for several years has become an electrifying music video for Criss Cross, a previously unreleased Rolling Stones track from the 1970s.In a breathless, dizzying nearly-five minutes, Ontanaya romps across continents, exploring freedom and hedonism, and exercises her impudent whims to regularly go nude in public.&nbsp;Incorporating both motion&nbsp;film and&nbsp;photography, directed and shot&nbsp;by Kunst herself, it's all been brought together in a brilliant edit by Carlos Font Clos.&nbsp;It's the&nbsp;complete antithesis to the restrictive, locked-down nature of the past few months. But, ironically it was the limitations enforced by the pandemic crisis that made it happen.[imgtoken data:1]The basis of the project&nbsp;is a video diary that Kunst has worked on since 2015, filming Ontanaya in various places around the world, where she often manages to get naked.&nbsp;Polydor director of video Semera Khan realised its potential as a promo for the Stones song that was an outtake for their 1973 album Goat's Head Soup, and has just been released.Ultimately the video is a combination of that footage from 2015 onwards, and including a new film shoot that took place under strict quarantine conditions in Ibiza. The security required to make that happen, and to process the film footage meant it the edit&nbsp;completed just hours before its release.&nbsp;But the result is just about the most sexy, glamourous, quintessentially rock 'n roll video this year.&nbsp;

The world comes together to celebrate movement and music in Filip Nilsson's video for Major Lazer and Marcus Mumford.For the project, Nilsson curated user-generated clips from 28 countries, with only one instruction- "Do your best. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Be yourself. We like you as you are.”Nilsson and his team enlisted&nbsp;renowned choreographer Ryan Heffington to devise&nbsp;the dance routine. "We then uploaded a video tutorial to 'shoot bibles' we created - one for dancers, one for musicians -&nbsp;and distributed to talent we’d found online or through casting agents," explains Object &amp; Animal executive producer Dom Thomas.&nbsp;As a result, the team received a mind-boggling&nbsp;1000 clips from 28 countries. Filip then directed Marcus Mumford - already a dab hand at self-shooting from his own lockdown video for You'll Never Walk Alone - via Skype. Then in Sweden, Andreas&nbsp;Arvidsson worked with Nilsson to edit the bank of footage, using just over 100 clips and never repeating an individual - with the exception of Mumford.&nbsp;The resulting crowd-sourced visual is&nbsp;simple and stripped-back,&nbsp;yet full of energy, character, diversity, and hope. It's an uplifting thing, a testament to our society's&nbsp;collaborative nature and ability to create moments of joy in the most unusual of circumstances.

A mobility scooter isn't the first vehicle that comes to mind when imagining a twenty-first century dance video, but Filip Nilsson has taken the concept and ran (ridden?) with it, and to great effect for Leftwing: Kody.Zooming through caravan parks, estates and multi-storey car parks, the&nbsp;protagonist of the video stops off at various locations to have a quick dance before moving on and repeating this ritual. When a gang start running after him, we presume the worst, but our expectations are subverted when the ringleader pulls out a microphone instead of a weapon. In true Nilsson fashion it only gets weirder from there.&nbsp;Offbeat, charming and funny, the video is a great (if unexpected) pairing to the track, and is sure to keep racking up views online.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kasper Häggström focusses on a father-daughter road trip in his video for Flyte, to tell a distinctive story about the&nbsp;need to move on with your life&nbsp;- and introduces a brilliantly quirky device to deliver the message.The daughter is off to college, and dad is driving her there, through English countryside and seaside, towards the big city. With the deceptively bright and nostalgic sound of Flyte's I Still Believe In You, this is about small moments, to be cherished in the future. There is something both slightly heartbreaking about the wordless relationship between the two of them - beautifully played by Mike Wozniak as distracted dad, and Eloise Thomas as dreamy daughter.But in&nbsp;a quirky, inspired and arguably symbolic choice, their journey takes place in a car that's quite special: it's&nbsp;a double fronted&nbsp;Rover 75 - a unique custom-built curiosity,&nbsp;which the eagle-eyed may notice appeared in an&nbsp;AA commercial a few years back. The choice of vehicle mirrors the themes of the visual, and represents the nostalgic yearning for the past yet bright optimism for the future the characters share.&nbsp;And together with his DoP Kristian Engelsen, Norwegian director Häggström (director of the MVA-winning video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/11/02/kelly-lee-owens-throwing-lines-kasper-h%C3%A4ggstr%C3%B6m/56640" target="_blank">Kelly Lee Owens' Throwing Lines</a>) creates a distinctive outsider's look at England. Soaked in natural light and vivid colour, Engelsen's cinematography is richly evocative. and feels like an old home movie, amping the nostalgia up to 11 whilst suggesting an almost comfortable reminder of home.
