But due to a combination of her distinctive charisma,&nbsp;and a brilliant edit by Ben Unwin, this becomes something more than its inspiration. It's an altogether&nbsp;more transcendent experience.&nbsp;It's out there, it's very Roisin, and it's amazing.&nbsp;And,&nbsp;let's face it, right now we need a brilliant song and a video like this.

Following his awesome promo for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2013/03/06/everything-everything-duet-by-jon-everything/">Duet</a> earlier this year, Everything Everything frontman Jon Everything &ndash; aka Jonathan Higgs &ndash; directs his fourth video for the band with this stunner for new single Don&rsquo;t Try.
Taking inspiration from classic paintings, Jon invites us to an eccentric dinner party complete with boisterous drumming diners, fireworks and erm, horses. He says: &ldquo;Don&rsquo;t Try is about letting it out and this video is all about absolute abandon. You can keep it in inside but it always comes out in the end one way or another, or it destroys you.
&ldquo;I was inspired by the way repressing a mind can often make a person wildly creative, and I thought lot of dark imagery in paintings of hell were especially direct. I wanted to try and bring classic paintings to life in as much colour and expression as possible&rdquo;.

The video was shot in Studio 2000 in Elstree, the dust made from paper pulp from a company called Snow Business. "They have started to do volcanic ash, dust coverings in various densities - we had one pallets worth of the stuff," says producer Phil Tidy. "The set was designed to be sparse and surreal/hyper real, with the hints of a larger landscape added in post. The bold red look came from experiments with the grade when we found a frame that was very bold and decided that we had to keep with that look."

Jonathan Higgs (aka Jon Everything) continues to skilfully direct Everything Everything's promos alongside being the band's gymnastic-voiced frontman. This new video finds the group in a more naturalistic setting, performing enthusiastically in a cavernous forest.

However, the main focus point here is the impressive dancer sourced by Jon after seeing him on the telly. With his impressive hand-walking, upside-down dancing action, it's difficult for him not to steal the show in this compelling video.

"I wrote Kemosabe about loneliness and feeling like an outsider. When thinking about the video I remembered a particular breakdancer I saw on TV a couple of years ago, performing 'The Rite of Spring', mostly walking on his hands. I somehow tracked him down using just my memory of the performance and a few emails. I really wanted the video to present something that was strange, something 'other', and then have it transform into something new and beautiful. The reason this dancer stood out was his incredible upper body strength, due in part to childhood polio. 

"I wanted to reveal him slowly, like some kind of monster, flashes of skin mixed with macro shots of insects and undergrowth. Slowly he was shown as a kind of freak, walking on his hands, then as the song progressed he began to dance in his incredibly unique way. I wanted the viewer's reaction to go from disgust, to confusion, then curiosity, and finally awe.

"The final important decision I made was to shoot almost entirely into the sun, with an anamorphic lens to get create a lot of flaring. I bloomed and coloured the footage a lot to emphasise the cascading light, and give everything a kind of dreamy quality. The main idea was to take something very strange and 'other' and show how it can be beautiful."

Everything Everything 'Kemosabe' by Jon Everything

Everything Everything return with a new song Cough Cough and the band's singer/guitarist Jonathan Higgs (aka Jon Everything) has taken up the directing reins once again - aided and abetted by producer Phil Tidy. But the playful, colourful approach of the likes of <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2010/11/17/everything-everything%E2%80%99s-photoshop-handsome-by-jon-everything/" target="_blank">Photoshop Handsome</a> has been replaced by a political edge: the band take up the sticks of Japanese Taiko drummers, cut with abstract shots of oil floating in water and footage from last year's London riots. 
"The song is about greed and wealth and I wanted a symbol for that, so I chose crude oil," Jon Everything explains. "I wanted us covered in it, consuming it, setting it on fire, everything. I was inspired by the riots last summer, hearing stories from those who were on both sides, and watching it from my window. And I saw a video of some Japanese Taiko drummers a few years ago and I was struck by the intensity and simplicity of those massive drums. 
"As our first song back in two years I chose a monochrome look, to keep things more bold and focused compared to our multicoloured past. I used a few clips from the riots, as well as a load of homemade footage of treacle and oil I filmed on my phone, and cut-out words to get the DIY look I was after. The video is supposed to get across the anger and frustration of the riots, as well as the confusion and sense of having no purpose or future."

"We wanted to create a fluid environment that would capture the viewers imagination and distort their perception in way that they would be intrigued," says Mark &amp; Joe. "In addition, it was important we made it so it appeared 'otherworldly' and 'unsettling' to capture the real essence behind the track."

"I wanted to film on a generic housing estate that could be anywhere in the country, and we ended up shooting in East London," says Caswell. "I created the film with the BalletBoyz - William Trevitt and Michael Nunn - and with only one shooting day available, Billy and Michael worked closely with their dancers to adapt and improvise the choreography into the actual landscape of that estate.
"I asked the BalletBoyz to base their choreography loosely on the idea of vultures circling a dying animal, feeling their excitement and anticipation as they gather to feed, waiting for the moment to strike. I was particularly interested in the distinctive head movements the birds make. I thought they would instil a real sense of visual menace.
"The central figure of the dying man is inconsequential; expendable. The ESTATE just goes about its business."

'The Estate' by Caswell Coggins

A young man sits alone in his flat, he appears trapped, contained, waiting for something until there is a knock at the door...
Like his acclaimed TV promo for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2011/05/23/luther-trailer-by-caswell-coggins/" target="_blank">Luther</a> last year, Caswell Coggins' new film Knock At The Door is rich in explosive movement. 
This is a short dance film featuring dancer and co-choreographer Anthony Missen, from Manchester-based dance company, Company Chameleon - with music by Mean Red - created as part of the C4 Random Acts series. But it's just as much about the atmospheric direction and stunning camerawork (by Deane Thrussell) as the choreography. 
The film is one of a series of three dance based films, the second and third shoot in March and will feature dancers from the dance company,The Ballet Boyz.

'Knock At The Door' by Caswell Coggins

We Have Band ingest jewels and sacrifice wax effigies of themselves in Alex Turvey's new video for Where Are Your People, under the watchful eye of a cloaked shaman.
The video was inspired by a scene from Jodorowsky's wonderfully bizarre The Holy Mountain and shows the band performing a ritual to shed their images by melting wax likenesses of themselves.

After his utterly completely bonkers video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2010/11/17/everything-everything%E2%80%99s-photoshop-handsome-by-jon-everything/" target="_blank">Photoshop Handsome</a>, Everything Everything frontman Jon Everything takes the directing reins again for Final Form, with Phil Tidy again producing to create some more impressive self-distortions, through a combination of in-camera projections and subtle 3D. 
Shot on Red MX and a variety of weird lenses, in a space where the inside temperature never rose above freezing,the band performed and then for parts of the day had these shots reprojected over themselves to create some arresting images. The 3d post elements were supplied by Adam Comiskey at Pew36 and evolve from single cells to see John Everything as a Chromosomic mask syncing to the track.
"The band wanted a distorted visceral version of themselves with the primordial ooze and contorted projections to convey a discomforting evolution," quoth Phil. "The freezing temperature helped create the claustrophobic menace with the decision that huddling for warmth in the round was creatively and thermically a good idea. It's good when a band are not interested in going to top shop with the stylist and want to help carry gear and generally be nice and creative."

Ou Est Le Swimming Pool’s Jackson’s Last Stand by Stephen J Bell

The new Blood Red Shoes vid was inspired by the photography of Pennie Smith for the cover of the Clash's London Calling. It's also the best live music video in ages. 
Phil Tidy took DoP Deane Thrussell and his camera ops to the legendary Paradiso in Amsterdam, where this was shot, during sound check and the show, on four Canon 5Ds with Nikon lenses. "The lighting designer set up more lights lower on the stage than usual to get more flare and back light for the video, and also to have more flashing lights over the audience," says Phil.
Richard Anthony then had his arm twisted to edit the footage, and did a brilliant job.
