Jack Lightfoot directs a touching exploration of brotherhood, in his promo for Sam Tompkins' latest single.&nbsp;Starring real-life siblings Sonnyboy and Buddy Skelton, the video for My Brother interweaves several narrative vignettes, set in an anachronistic, early Noughties time period.&nbsp;In the concept, the younger of the two brothers - Buddy - is struggling to connect with Sonnyboy, and feels left out when trying to spend time with him. This all changes when their father dies, and the two form an unbreakable bond and friendship.&nbsp;"It was great to team up with Sam again, this time in the director's chair," says Lightfoot.&nbsp;"Sam came up with the narrative, and having a younger brother myself it really struck a chord with me - we've certainly been through many similar situations together - sorry Tom!&nbsp;"I was delighted that we managed to land Sonnyboy and Buddy for the lead roles - they're such a talented family and look great on camera, they really took this video to the next level. Big thanks as always to the production, artist, and label dream teams involved."&nbsp;

Hot off the heels of the release of his acclaimed feature film Boiling Point, Philip Barantini directs a heartfelt promo for Sam Tompkins.&nbsp;Thematically exploring the artist's relationship with his Dad, Tompkins transforms into a middle-aged version of himself in the video for Hero - complete with thinning hair and a wife and son of his own - and gets to grips with the challenges of ageing whilst battling his own demons.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Tompkins' character leaves home early one morning, and drives to a cliff, where he contemplates ending it all - before reminiscing over a photo he has in his pocket, remembering a day with his family.&nbsp;The final shots see the artist remove his makeup and interact with the crew, breaking character before going to call his Dad for real.It's a poignant and relatable concept, brought to life by Barantini's sensitive&nbsp;direction and ability to extrapolate pure emotion from the cast.&nbsp;"When Sam and his team sent the brief for Hero I was immediately drawn to the honesty, and how powerful the message was," says Barantini. "I really hope anyone who is struggling might find the strength to reach out when they watch it. It was a joy to work with such a passionate bunch of people on this too."

Blake Claridge directs a poignant and&nbsp;meditative promo for modern classical artist Alexis Ffrench.&nbsp;The video for Guiding Light builds upon themes of love and loss, and depicts a woman standing on the shoreline, allowing the waves to wash over her bare feet, while&nbsp;an upright piano stands&nbsp;just metres away. Then Ffrench himself appears, playing the refrain of Guiding Light on the piano.&nbsp;The idea of connection to nature and to a higher power is elevated by the stormy, unsettled weather, and the subtlety of the performance allows viewers to impress their own experiences onto the concept and form their own attachments to the music."On the recce, the sun was out and I had planned things for the perfect sunset," explains Blake Claridge.&nbsp;"But this is England,&nbsp;so on the shoot day we were coming off the back of a storm and shooting in torrential rain. But it was perfect, and just created more drama to what was always going to be a pure and simple piece."

In Spit Of You, the director explores the complicated relationship between a father and son, reflecting the theme of Fender's song, and the result is terrific.With powerful performances from both Graham and Fender, Barantini gets to grips with the numerous layers that make up a father-son relationship at a certain point in their lives - when the son is now a man himself, and the father is ill-equipped to deal with it.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;Graham has appeared in a lot of music videos but it's hard to remember him giving a better performance than this one. But Sam Fender really matches him - and the director has no doubt about his potential as an actor."Such an incredible experience, and what a joy working with two absolute powerhouses!" says Barantini. Dan Cadan and Jonathan 'Scully' Mowatt's latest video for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds&nbsp;brings the French nouvelle vague&nbsp;to modern London, and as with previous work for Noel, features a big name cast: Matt Smith and Gala Gordon play the lovers in a story inspired directly by Godard's Breathless.The video for We're On Our Way Now provides a snapshot of the lives of the couple, where an ambivalence and darkness lurks under the surface of a true romance. The directors also leave enough to the viewer's imagination to try to piece together a bigger story.As with the Jean-Paul Belmondo character in Breathless, Matt Smith is mixed up with some shady goings-on - either working for, or possibly against Noel Gallagher, who features in a cameo as a gangland figure. Smith bring depth to the part and is ideally cast. Both he and Gordon - her second video for Gallagher - are both captured wonderfully in a timeless-looking London by Danish DoP&nbsp;Niels Reedtz Johansen.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Tom Jones faces off against a&nbsp;mysterious&nbsp;oppressor, in his cover of&nbsp;Malvina Reynolds' No Hole In My Head.Directed by Daniel Broadley, the promo opens with Sir Tom standing in front of a police lineup wall, before going head to head with his anonymous nemesis&nbsp;in an interrogation room.As more characters begin to populate the room&nbsp;one-by-one, they each find the strength to shine bright and cancel out the darkness, overruling their fear&nbsp;and doubts.&nbsp;&nbsp;It's a great concept, with a trademark powerful performance from the iconic artist, and plenty of attitude to boot.&nbsp;Sir Tom is clearly not done yet. And if this and his previous&nbsp;video for Talking Reality Television Blues&nbsp;are anything to go by, he is gearing up for one of his most varied and exciting releases to date.&nbsp;

A smattering of lo-fi visual effects adds an otherworldly polish to the concept, and helps tie together the aesthetic and offbeat style&nbsp;of the project.&nbsp;

Arlo Parks takes centre stage in Jack Lightfoot's&nbsp;understated live video for Black Dog, shot in collaboration with Spotify.&nbsp;Based inside the Hackney Round Chapel, the laidback promo is as minimalist as they come - only Parks and a guitarist inhabit the space - and puts the entire focus on the music&nbsp;and the experience.&nbsp;Relaxed camera movement perfectly complements the breezy performance, with an overarching feelgood vibe that jumps from every frame."I'd been really keen to work with Arlo since a friend introduced me to her music earlier in the year, so I was so excited when Spotify offered me the opportunity," says Lightfoot. "This is one track from a three track set. We based ourselves in the stunning Hackney Round Chapel, and really wanted to showcase as much of the venue as possible, so favoured a lot of sweeping wides."The weather was on our side too - half the light coming through the window is film lighting, but the other half is natural sun beams. I thought 'that's lucky', but Mike [O'Connor, DOP]&nbsp;insisted he had strategically planned this!"&nbsp;
