Matoma, MNEK &amp; Kiana Ledé will their dismembered limbs to free themselves from a nasty butcher, in this splendid video by Jeff Desom and Carlos Lopez Estrada.We open in a butcher's fridge, where the three artists' heads are sitting&nbsp;detached from their bodies. Some bad stuff has been going on. We cut to their hands, which are waking each other up&nbsp;and planning a strategy to regroup with all of the missing body parts. Facing off against the brute in the kitchen chopping up meat for his shop, the body parts are skilful, brave and hilarious in executing their goal.&nbsp;With a nod to&nbsp;old time cartoons, and a hint of Tim Burton, Desom and Lopez Estrada keep the gruesome themes on a level of fun, and gore and violence to a minimum.&nbsp;DoP Patrick Jones does a great job in bringing the idea to life, juxtaposing the brown, dimly lit hues of the kitchen with the bright blue, crisp colours inside the fridge.&nbsp;Armando Vernet's inspired art direction rounds off the project, populating the world with vintage Americana and charming DIY props, amongst some clever use of VFX to tie it all together. A breath of fresh air, definitely to be enjoyed on repeat.&nbsp;

Father John Misty attempts to check out of his own personal Hotel California in Jeff Desom and Carlos Lopez Estrada&#39;s fabulous video for Mr. Tillman.When FJM leaves this Coen-esque establisment, glancing at the model of the hotel in the lobby on his way out, he enters a universe where his sense of self and independence is remorsely exposed as a sham. Each stage reveals another part of the puzzle and deepens his nightmare of helplessness.This is beautifully achieved by Desom and Lopez Estrada, every shot essential to moving this riveting psycho comedy-horror forward. To quote another Father John aka Josh Tillman&nbsp;song, it is total&nbsp;entertainment forever.

Carlos Lopez Estrada&#39;s winning streak of simple continuous-take visual collaborations with Clipping. gets another installment with &#39;True Believer&#39;.Clipping.&#39;s now Hugo Award-nominated concept album about a slave rebellion on board a space ship has had some interesting gravity-defying visuals in the past, but this one is fantastic in its simplicity. A New York Street scene becomes the setting for an astronaut &ndash;&nbsp;the track&#39;s guest vocalist Paul Outlaw &ndash; floating listlessly into outer space, occasionally chiming in to lip-sync his part. The slow creeping of his ascent is a sinister visual accompaniment to the ominous drones of the track itself.

I wonder if Carlos Lopez Estrada ever imagined his career would include a &#39;Sheep Choreography&#39; credit. I&#39;m sure within his eclectic repertoire and his increasingly far-reaching collaborations with Watsky he must be aware now that anything is possible.Set in a cartoonish dreamscape inside a kid&#39;s head, Watsky plays the shepherd of the sheep the young boy must have been counting in order to get to sleep in the first place (because someone&#39;s gotta look after them, right?!) It starts out harmoniously enough - sheep choreography et al &ndash; but unfortunately for Watsky it all seems to go awry quite quickly.Sheep die left, right and centre before being resurrected in a nightmarish fashion. None of that seems to bother the little kid though...

After releasing <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/06/30/bars-mixtape-musical-medley-vol-1-carlos-lopez-estrada">volume 1 back in June</a>, Carlos Lopez Estrada and the team behind #BARS are back with a bigger, bolder second installment.Recreating twelve classic literary scenes as hip-hop vignettes in a single 40-minute take is damned impressive. Add into the mix a live score and a full theatre audience and what you&#39;ve got is something that runs beyond ambitious and straight into insane. With Tony Award winners, Broadway stars and celebrated rappers making up some of the cast, combined with awesome set design and precision work from Estrada and his team, this is worth setting aside 40 minutes of your day to absorb.

Being that Clipping&#39;s frontman Daveed Diggs is pretty much tied up with his starring Broadway role in Hamilton,&nbsp;any time he gets to work on Clipping is likely both precious and fleeting. Leave it to Carlos Lopez Estrada to get creative with these restraints.&nbsp;This clip sees Diggs simply in a black expanse, occasionally accompanied by similarly dressed acquaintances and a mixture of real-world and CGI set decoration to illustrate the songs lyrical points. As the video progresses the choreography becomes more and more complex, and increasingly the imagery becomes stark. The whole thing plays perfectly into Clipping&#39;s wider aesthetic of mainstream hip-hop tropes played out with a bleak, abrasive style.

After the knockabout, boxing match fun of <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/08/11/watsky-ft-mal-devisa-midnight-heart-carlos-lopez-estrada" target="_blank">Midnight Heart</a>, San Franciscan rapper and slam poet George&nbsp;Watsky swiftly resumes his collaborating with Carlos Lopez Estrada, and the video for Brave New World is a corker.&nbsp;You know those cutout paper dolls you can dress up? There&#39;s quite a good paper doll book&nbsp;for Taylor Swift, in fact, but luckily&nbsp;these guys have appropriated the idea for a video before Swifty did. Watsky becomes the human doll, with different costumes and&nbsp;mind-boggling clothes combos falling on him then flying off every couple of seconds.The speed of change and variety of costumes is&nbsp;mind-boggling, which makes it a must for repeated viewings. Less obvious is the VFX that makes clothes fly on and fly off Watksy&#39;s body - that must have taken ages and its&nbsp;achieved brilliantly.&nbsp;Great stuff.&nbsp;

Carlos Lopez Estrada astounds again with some knockout fight night choreography.It takes a hell of a lot of effort to choreograph a dance, just as it does to choreograph a fight. To choreograph both simultaneously so that they weave in and out of one another is truly some next level work.Carlos&#39; video for Watsky combines these disciplines with some great rhythmic timing, both from an edit and story standpoint and douses the whole thing with heaps of attitude. It&#39;s a dreamlike boxing match ballet than manages to be dizzying, cartoonish and theatrical all whilst still being coolly menacing.

Carlos Lopez Estrada is consistently unleashing remarkable videos into the world. This latest is no exception. For jazz singer Kari Faux&#39;s Fantasy,&nbsp;he lets the camera continually circle an apartment, using the detritus that builds up throughout the video tell a story of heartbreak, and the things we let slide when that level of emotion takes hold of us. It&#39;s a brilliantly executed one at that, with a well pitched blend of real emotion and music video magic.From the simple piling up of dirty dishes to the sparking of wall outlets and the death of protagonists on TV -&nbsp;we&#39;re shown a very clear path downwards, &nbsp;which&nbsp;ends &ndash; unforgettably &ndash; with a giant&nbsp;anthropomorphized double bass destroying Kari&#39;s apartment block. Yep. Classic storytelling done right.

Not strictly a music video, but certainly an undertaking worth paying attention to - Carlos Lopez Estrada (who&#39;s provided us with some incredible videos for the likes of Thundercat and Clipping) gives us a look at volume 1 of his new project: #BARS.The video is the product of a workshop in NYC run by Daveed Diggs (of rap group Clipping, and currently starring in the Broadway sensation Hamilton) who also takes part in this video. The idea being that each of the performers writes and performs their own verse&nbsp;(which they have lifted from other moments in pop culture history past and present) with the backing of a live band&nbsp;in one, long, impressive take.It&#39;s an incredible undertaking for all those in front of and behind the camera and the payoff is really quite satisfying. Seriously, seeing Daveed Diggs and&nbsp;Rafael Casal intro this whole piece with a rap about Calvin and Hobbes had me giddy with glee. I&#39;m surely not the only one.

Carlos Lopez Estrada&nbsp;is back with another distinctive dash of West Coast surreal, with lashings of All-American sex,&nbsp;for&nbsp;American house producer&nbsp;Marc Kinchen aka&nbsp;MK&#39;s Piece Of Me.&nbsp;Firstly there are the&nbsp;young, attractive couples&nbsp;making out in two cars that are travelling without any visible drivers. Then, we discover that these&nbsp;cars are the heads of giants&nbsp;skating towards each other in heavy traffic. And when they meet.... the inevitable happens. And then more bizarre, sexy stuff.JG Ballard&#39;s novel Crash&nbsp;memorably explores&nbsp;the erotic possibilities of car&nbsp;accidents, but&nbsp;Carlos says that the idea for video for Piece Of Me&nbsp;came from another source.&nbsp;&quot;The video was inspired by an illustration by an LA artist called Radical! that hangs over the office of one of the production companies I work for called Landia,&quot; he explains.&nbsp;&quot;I had been staring at it for years and have always wanted to develop something based on that tragic image of a car crash embrace.&quot;
