A lone choirboy in his choral gown collects fragments of electronic equipment along mudflats in Broken Antenna's poignant video for Clark's Small.The track is taken from the electronic musician and soundtrack composer's latest album&nbsp;Playground In A Lake, released on classical label Deutsche Grammaphon, and features young Nathaniel Timoney on vocals - who plays the beachcoming choirboy&nbsp;in the video.Filmed in the Thames estuary, this is a tonal departure for the directing duo&nbsp;- that's&nbsp;Myles McAuliffe and Gustav Newby&nbsp;- compared to previous videos for&nbsp;Hak Baker and others. For their latest video for Hak Baker, Broken Antenna&nbsp;try something different: a mini-drama of a London wedding in the early 2000s, that brings white and black families together, shot entirely on Hi8.Hak and his band provide the entertainment as the wedding party in a local church hall gets into full swing - performing his latest ode, Venezuela Riddim. There's drinking, dancing and other stuff. Tempers fray, connections are made... and fans of Hak Baker's previous videos will not be surprised to learn that&nbsp;the charismatic troubadour&nbsp;is soon in the thick of it.&nbsp;This is&nbsp;a subtle change-up into drama for Broken Antenna - that's Myles McAuliffe and Gustav Newby&nbsp;- which&nbsp;they handle with aplomb. Everything feels right about it - the sizeable cast is pitch perfect, the use of the home video camera helps to deliver that sense of authenticity. And although the wedding is not genuine, the party probably is.An excellent addition to the Hak Baker canon by Broken Antenna, which includes&nbsp;the UKMVA-nominated <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/12/19/hak-baker-it-or-lump-it-broken-antenna/51088" target="_blank">Like It Or Lump It</a> and Wonderland.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Broken Antenna and Hak Baker have reunited, following the UKMVA-nominated <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/12/19/hak-baker-it-or-lump-it-broken-antenna/51088" target="_blank">Like It Or Lump It</a>,&nbsp;for the first single of his upcoming project, and it&#39;s a belter.&nbsp;Floating between real life and a dreamlike drunk utopia (the titular &#39;Wonderland&#39;), the viewer is treated to an insight into what happens on an average weekend for Hak and his mates. Essentially lots of drinking, and then everything else to follow...Graded in cinematic monotone tones to make the mundane occurances seem outwordly, it&#39;s arguably the best example yet of the talents of Broken Antenna (aka Myles McAuliffe and Gustav Newby), who have <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/news/2019/03/22/broken-antenna-join-knucklehead/57840" target="_blank">just signed to Knucklehead</a>.But probably the main reason to watch this is Hak Baker himself. He&#39;s a unique, searingly honest&nbsp;London voice, with on-screen charisma to burn.

London-based directing team Broken Antenna has joined Knucklehead's UK directors roster.&nbsp;Broken Antenna are&nbsp;Myles McAuliffe and Gustav Newby, who's inventive music videos output includes work for Slick Don, Trellion, Oscar Worldpeace and Hak Baker, and recognition with nominations at the UKMVAs.&nbsp;Their recent work includes Jam Baxter's Mask, featuring Ray N Bone Man, and the just-released video for Hak Baker's Wonderland.Their approach, often using inventive in-camera visual effects, has attracted brands such as Nike, Irn-Bru, and the British Heart Foundation.McAuliffe and Gustav Newby grew up in Camberwell, South London. After starting out in&nbsp;the location department on films such as Skyfall and Made in Dagenham, they went to university to study film. Jam Baxter,&nbsp;Rag&#39;n&#39;Bone Man and OG Rootz go for a meal at a local restaurant where the maitre &#39;d - played by Perry Benson - promises them extraordinary delicacies. And, in a way, he&#39;s right...Gustav and Myles of Broken Antenna dish up an appetising comic-horror for Mask, where&nbsp;unspeakably monstrous&nbsp;plates of obscure seafood&nbsp;- that&#39;s&nbsp;mostly still breathing - has a grim effect on the pallor and constitutions of the three rappers.The imaginative display of dishes -&nbsp;always just too disgusting to consider that it&#39;s real&nbsp;food - has been created with a very impressive combination of work by art director Jen Gardiner,&nbsp;&#39;food styling&#39; by Huw Caddy and Matthew Harris, puppetry and modelmaking by Emily Morus-Jones, prosthetics by Cesar Alonso, and post work at Cranrust VFX. Slick Don gets back together with Broken Antenna for Dat Boi, and the result is a super-inventive and energetic video which elevates Don&#39;s performance through some slick, but mostly lo-fi, visual&nbsp;effects.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Gustav and Myles (aka Broken Antenna) mix analogue collage - consisting of 2386 stills printed hand cut out and scanned back in - with phrenetic in-camera match cutting techniques.&quot;To add an extra element of DIY aesthetic we then added extra elements of hand drawn crayon and scanned in some diagrams and labels that we had used in the making of the video,&quot; explain Broken Antenna. It&#39;s an added post-modernist touch that&#39;s going to make this video quite freeze-frameable for camera nerds.

Starting with a landscape shot on a thermal imaging camera, directing team Broken Antenna add elements that make it completely&nbsp;alien, all relating to the title of Toddla T&#39;s new track.Whether it&#39;s jagged whirlpools emerging from the black lake, or crystal structures suddenly forming above the hills, these are all real phenomena created by magnets - some of which come with the release of Magnets, Toddla T&#39;s track featuring Andrea Martin. Everything was captured in-camera, and the effects are a mixture of ferrofluid, iron fillings and printer toner distorted by magnetic force.&quot;We wanted everything in the video to be organic elements comped together rather than using 3D, to make it true to the release itself,&quot; say Broken Antenna.
