Felix Brady explores our sense of self in the mesmerising video for Greentea Peng's Hu Man.&nbsp;Spanning a series of hyperstylised vignettes, the video is packed full of iconography alluding to our sense of self and the falsehoods we have bought into as a society, and laments the way we are so reliant on our own egos.&nbsp;Peng explains, "The track is a war cry. Calling upon the energy of Kali Ma- ‘The Dark Mother’, to strip us from our ego, take the skin and leave the spirit and transcend the veil of Maya - The cosmic illusion. For the battleground is inside of us - between you and your ego. Matilda Finn&#39;s video for Sophie Hunger begins with a silent prelude, in a house shrouded in grief, where a young woman surveys the body of an aged relative, laid out before her burial. But then the body changes.Suddenly, its all action: a car rally in the forest, a car careering through the woods in a race against time, surrounded by cheering crowds. The driver strives to cut seconds with an ever faster and dangerous drive, to the alarm of the co-driver.It&#39;s the stuff of testosterone-heavy films down the ages, but the difference here is that everyone, from driver to crowd to mourners are female. And as she has done so successfully in the past Finn charts a path in her images - beautfully shot by Ben Fordesman in sun-kissed Ukraine - between urgent reality and a surreal dreamscape. The characters, storyline only make total sense in relation to the track. As it should be.&nbsp;

Chris Barratt and Luke Taylor - aka directing duo Us &ndash; return to music videos after a very long hiatus with a big, messy video for Harry Styles.It starts with kids and cakes - lots of them. And in a kind of an anti-Great British Bake Off, the purpose of the exercise is clearly cake destruction, in a massive pastry, pie and sponge dust-up in the school hall. When a boy enters the fray in a resplendent&nbsp;rose-patterned suit&nbsp;we can assume this is Harry&#39;s mini-avatar, about to rule supreme in&nbsp;the cake war.Well, actually that would be quite wrong. We haven&#39;t reached the ultimate&nbsp;level of mayhem yet. That only happens when, finally, Harry himself arrives - carrying armfuls&nbsp;of puppy dogs...Barratt and Taylor somehow orchestrate all this chaos into a visual treat, ably assisted by DoP Ben Fordesman&#39;s typically cinematic photography and a great grade by&nbsp;Simone Grattarola.&nbsp;And whoever baked all those cakes deserves a medal too.

Bonobo soundtracks The Rapture in this head-spinning, hyper-detailed video by Dave Bullivant, aka BISON.With erratic, repetitive cuts showing a panicked woman, played by Gemma Arterton, running through London during what appears to be The Ascension, you could be forgiven for thinking that the video starts and ends with this clever editing concept. You would, however, be very wrong.Buried within the frames of this video are tons of visual curiosities, Easter eggs and elements of supernatural foreshadowing that show both an incredible attention to detail, and Bison&#39;s smart willingness to exploit the average viewer&#39;s inability to notice subtle changes on a first viewing.&nbsp;

The world is dark, cultish and cutthroat place in Temptress&#39; video for Lies, directed&nbsp;by Fred Rowson.The black and white clip see the musical duo ritualistically slaughtered by a Wicker Man-esque Olde England cult, who just happen to be in the present day. Intercut with images of children at play, this is a sinister video executed with a wryness that only makes its presence felt on a second or third viewing.
