David Heofs's&nbsp;outstanding video for legendary alt-metal outfit Deftones reaffirms the power of the medium as a means of untrammelled artistic expression.The video for Milk Of The Madonna is, essentially a&nbsp;piece about surrender and rebirth - 'a sensory trip from chaos to clarity and the mental landscapes in between', according to the director and production company <a href="https://www.bandizstudio.com/" target="_blank">Bandiz</a>. It's also&nbsp;surprising and uncompromising: a rapid, almost&nbsp;random succession of images, using a range of formats and techniques. The exact opposite of 'dreamlike', it nevertheless&nbsp;gives the effect of a restless, agitated&nbsp;dream.&nbsp;&nbsp;The central character is a young woman, who ultimately will find her way to a giant man-made wonder of engineering - a hydro-electic dam. It's a journey in which she loses herself but finally re-emerges and achieves&nbsp;a resolution.&nbsp;&nbsp;Heofs&nbsp;has evidently been given free rein by the band - and Warner's&nbsp;just-as-legendary commissioner Devin Sarno - to experiment, stretching the idea of narrative to allow the viewer find their own story, while being drawn into the almost hypnotic fusion of music and visuals.&nbsp;With that freedom,&nbsp;Heofs has created something almost radical by the conventions of mid-2020s music video-making - and confirmed that he is one of the most exciting talents working in the medium right now.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]&nbsp;[imgtoken data:3]&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

David Heofs has directed&nbsp;a collection of 13 videos for Spanish rapper Dano’s new album, Nuevos Trapos, and the video for Dupont Dreams&nbsp;serves as the cornerstone of the whole visual album, bringing together fragments from each of the situations explored in the other 12 pieces - which were all filmed entirely in a single take.Set in a purely nocturnal atmosphere, the project celebrates the city of Madrid and the historic places that have been significant both for the local hip-hop scene and for the artist himself.Evocative and atmospheric, the video feels like a series of moving portraits, lingering moments of time captured in a surreal way. Ismael De La Trinidad directs an arresting narrative symbolising Spanish singer Lia Kali's personal struggles against harmful forces.&nbsp;The video for Renacer transforms an empty airport terminal into an eerie stage, a metaphor for the fear and phobia that haunt the artist. In this space, that Lia confronts her own 'demoness' - a blue skinned, yellow-eyed sprite -&nbsp;in a visceral duel&nbsp;embodying the chaos of intrusive thoughts in her head.[imgtoken data:1]The video immerses the viewer in an internal battle where every small victory matters: overcoming fears, pushing past exhaustion, and making peace with oneself. David Heofs directs an alluring black and white promo for Spanish rapper and singer-songwriter&nbsp;Dellafuente featuring singer Amore, set in Granada, Andalucia&nbsp;and the magnificent&nbsp;Alhambra.&nbsp;The palatial setting and striking landscapes are the perfect location for the ambitious visual for Malicia, which follows a variety of characters portrayed in their daily lives - including&nbsp;fighters training in the mountains around the city.Between the slick performance vignettes and cinematic elements of the fighters,&nbsp;snapshots of documentary-style portraits help give context to the surroundings, capturing&nbsp;emblematic scenes of Holy Week in Granada.&nbsp;It is a&nbsp;blend of fiction and reality really helps to elevate&nbsp;the video.The video is the latest collaboration between Dellafuente and David Heofs, who also directed the artist's&nbsp;visual album Milagro, the Taifa Yallah project, and the music video for Ya No Te Veo, together with the graphic design of album covers that he has created for the artist at Bandiz Studio.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

David Heofs directs a gorgeous promo for Omar Apollo, a visual tribute to the artist's Mexican&nbsp;origins.&nbsp;Inspired by contemporary art, fashion and culture, in Heofs' video for Spite we witness the discovery of freedom through dance and movement.
