The club setting, the vibrant&nbsp;nightlife&nbsp;colours, the repeat cuts, and of course, that&nbsp;irresistibly&nbsp;hip-hop beat&nbsp;that underpins the whole thing. Slowly but surely the viewer can even discern a secret narrative...It&#39;s directed by a new directing duo: Sblood. That&#39;s Gareth Phillips and Simon Milner of Is Tropical - the band &nbsp;for which Gareth has made several videos as a solo director.&nbsp;They have another new video, for Wolf Alice, in the works. And it already looks like a winning combination.&nbsp;

Shot on location at the Crumlin Road Prison in Belfast, Lucy Tcherniak contrasts very poignantly Hudson Taylor&#39;s acoustic ballad Weapons, with the brutal reality of life as an inmate.&nbsp;Starring Liam McMahon and a cast of locals playing the other prisoners&nbsp;and screws, producer Ben Falk explains:&quot;Lucy cast Liam after seeing his performance in Steve McQueen&#39;s &#39;Hunger&#39;, and quickly discovered there was no challenge she could throw at him that he wouldn&#39;t rise to.&quot;They worked very closely on developing the narrative, under continued consultation with ex-offenders Michael Diamond (playing Liam&#39;s cellmate) and Kieran King (playing the lead screw) whose input was invaluable in creating something authentic, basing many of the scenes on their real life experiences.&quot;

Stu Thomson&#39;s video&nbsp;for&nbsp;Free by Rudimental and Emeli&nbsp;Sandé captures what must be the most extreme of extreme sports - wing-suit flying - and the results are absolutely breathtaking.&nbsp;&nbsp;Shot around Eiger Mountain in the Alps, the promo follows real life wing suit flyer and&nbsp;extreme sports athlete Jokke Soomer, as he climbs one of the peaks, and then jumps off. An amazing feat of courage and possibly sheer madness, its all brilliantly captured by Thomson and his cameraman&nbsp;Ben Fordesman - and via a camera within the suit itself.&nbsp;What&#39;s more, this runs parallel with a London-set story of a young boy escaping the bullies by taking up falconry - and then the the story strands come together...

You may remember Moones&#39; superb video for their song Better Energy last year &ndash; an insane melange of animation styles supervised by Peter Sluszka, and a nominee at the 2012 MVAs.&nbsp;And you will now marvel in a very different way at this new video by Ben Falk for the same track, the title of which is more explanatory than you might think. The band really do get Drunk In Session.But rather than just showing&nbsp;Moones&nbsp;getting progressively more inebriated&nbsp;as they perform the song, an interactive element allows the viewer to cut the video themselves in two ways -&nbsp;between cameras covering a take,&nbsp;and between takes as the band go up the scale of pissedness - from 0 to 80 beers. And this is achieved with the ingenious but easy-to-use method of YouTube annotations.So this is ingenious, insane &ndash; and genuinely experimental. Check for yourself the effect of multiple brewskis on a bunch of guys playing music (Moones are basically&nbsp;cooking on about 40 beers; not surprisingly all over the shop on 80).Could definitely&nbsp;catch on. Love to see Radiohead do this... &nbsp;

Ben and Jos enhance a rousing performance from Amy Macdonald and her band with projected footage of all things Americana to brilliant effect, to partner her new single 4th of July.&ldquo;We wanted this video to have a nostalgic feel&rdquo; explain the directing duo. &ldquo;To achieve this we trawled through days of wonderful stock footage from the incredible Prelinger archive. This footage creates a cathartic effect. Days lost but experiences had.&ldquo;The song feels quite light, whereas the lyrics are downbeat. The attempt was to use this footage to complement these emotions. We were lucky to shoot on 16mm film, and used several different stocks. We played with in-camera ramps and other destructive techniques to give the film a degraded look&rdquo;.

Richard Hunter, working on minimal budget, has put together this atmospheric, almost Bjork-like promo for London based band Ghosts You Echo.  It's a dark and mysterious affair and yet colourful and vivid at the same time.  Extra kudos must surely go to costume designer David Curtis-Ring for lead singer Vicky's excellent tribal trappings and shaman attire, and to VFX designer Dominic Burgess for his interesting work with some great lighting effects.
Richard says "It was a tiny tiny budget, (£500) - Vicky (lead singer) approached me as she liked my work and wanted a promo - myself and my friend Dominic worked on an idea together and this is what we landed on. Everyone worked insanely hard and well together - a special special thanks to Dom who without this video literally couldn't have happened. He worked full days at a post house to then go on and work single handily late into the night, crafting the effects from start to finish!"
"No Warlocks were harmed in the making of this video," he adds.

In keeping with his no-frills approach to his look and sound, young (and even younger-looking) Nottingham singer-songwriter Jake Bugg teams up with Ben &amp; Jos for this simple yet effective performance promo to new single Taste It.
The video has that classic look too - on account of it being shot on good, old fashioned 16mm. "Which was so nice," says Ben Falk, of Ben &amp; Jos.
