Jim Longden directs his first music video since signing to Prettybird UK for&nbsp;Jaxxon D Silva,&nbsp;featuring the artist playing&nbsp;an imprisoned character in a brick-lined cell, talking to his alter ego, and then assuming numerous more intriguing personalities.Surreal and eccentric in its concept, the visual for Crack In The Mask features a frantic blend of hypnotic characters&nbsp;and vignettes, in a&nbsp;clash of music video and horror film aesthetics.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;"This was my second time directing Jaxxon on screen," explains Longden. "Similar to the first time last year in Don't Look At Me, it was a bizarre, peculiar and outlandish experience. But we managed to get it done due to the two of us being strict, quick and having rehearsed and argued our thoughts for a few days before the shoot."Having the test of creating a film or video in just one room is a test I had always wanted to face. I am pleased with the outcome, and my respect for filmmakers like Sidney Lumet, which has already very high, has grown even more."

David Wilson directs a stunning 'monster film' for MASSTOR's&nbsp;Self Control, a cover&nbsp;of&nbsp;Raf’s 1984 hit.&nbsp;After spending his free time experimenting with Midjourney&nbsp;in September of 2022 - and creating @RetroFuturistDaddies, a gorgeously curated feed of AI-generated moustachioed men as a result of it - David Wilson caught the eye of LA-based artist MASSTOR, who enlisted his help in creating this&nbsp;tour de force amalgam&nbsp;of performance, character design and queer muscle aesthetic.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Blending high-fashion nostalgia, retrofuturistic imagery and moments of pure fantasy, we see the artist hanging out in a bar, surrounded by muscle men and fellow plush creatures, having a whale of a time.It's camp, eclectic and completely engrossing, and explores areas of queer iconography that spoke directly to Wilson’s passions, having carved his name as an ever-growing presence in the&nbsp;queer filmmaking community.&nbsp;From costume design through to art direction and cinematography, it's a polished visual that retains a certain dancefloor grit and sex appeal,&nbsp;and there's one thing that can be almost guaranteed - you won't see another music video like it today![imgtoken data:2]

But things are a bit weird and off-kilter, as she walks past glitching, frozen figures, the details of her surroundings start to pixellate - and Natanya herself increasingly takes the appearance of a character in an old-school videogame.&nbsp;&nbsp;It takes a little time for her get used to her new reality - but she does. But did she ever leave her cozy bedroom?Lauzza creates an intriguing world&nbsp;in which Natanya to express herself. Anne-Marie finds good reason to suspect that Aitch is up to no good, in Samuel Douek's entertaining video for Psycho.Douek creates a boisterously colourful, almost cartoonish series of environments in which Anne-Marie can wreak havoc upon Aitch's attempts at serial cheating. The director's approach gels nicely with the light-hearted tone of the collaboration between two of the UK's biggest pop stars.And he gets sterling support from the production design by&nbsp;Tilda Bonham Carter, styling by Cora Delaney and Justin Rose, and the casting of Aitch's numerous other girlfriends.[imgtoken data:1]"The idea of the video was to empower anyone who has been in Anne-Marie’s position before," says Douek. Jack Whiteley returns to music videos - his first since a deliciously kooky number for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/04/12/aldous-harding-fixture-picture-jack-whiteley-aldous-harding/58231" target="_blank">Aldous Harding</a> earlier in the year - to undertake an surprising, sizzling makeover for erstwhile earnest indie-rockers All We Are.&nbsp;In keeping with the change&nbsp;to a&nbsp;funkier sound on their forthcoming third album, Whiteley has introduced a new element to the band's previously worthy profile - sex. But then delivers the naughty stuff&nbsp;in a charmingly tongue-in-cheek package for the album's first single L Is For Lose.It's a hot, sultry, even sweaty&nbsp;August night in Miami in about 1985 - shot in a studio, rather like a music video of the era. The band have the mock edgy attitude, like from a Pat&nbsp;Benatar video.&nbsp;But unlike the 80s, its embellished with garish&nbsp;animation that delivers&nbsp;the lyrics - created by Whitelely's regular collaborator Joe Wills - that seeps and blisters through the screen.&nbsp;It's a lurid aesthetic that's something of an acquired taste - but once acquired, you can settle back and enjoy, together with the various pleasures to be had from All We Are's change in musical direction.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jack Whiteley gets together with New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding for this marvellous outing of minimalist quirkiness.With a wonderful beach location - it's a secret as to exactly where, apparently&nbsp;- a striking use of colour, and a performance by Harding that gives full rein to her&nbsp;personality, she and Whiteley have created something really special for the lovely Fixture Picture.&nbsp;She certainly knows how to hold a tambourine. And how to rock a wide-brimmed hat.
